76ers are 4-1! They're looking great! + The Machine NBA2K25 Career Pt. 34
So despite my Titans being the worst team in the NFL, the Sixers are growing into a top team in the NBA! In an odd way I'm getting the 'best' of both worlds as a sports fan LOL.
It's still early of course for the Sixers and the grind has not even really begun in full yet so there's definitely a lot of questions to be answered. But oh well I'm still excited! With the nightmare of a season the Sixers had last year, the Phillies disappointing playoff run, and again the Titans stinking, this Sixers team is really making me optimistic!
Tyrese Maxey and V.J. Edgecombe look like the next great guard combo. Quentin Grimes coming in off the bench for serious minutes every night is the icing on the cake from the guard position. Kelly Oubre Jr. is as reliable as ever from the small forward position.
Oh and yeah Joel Embiid is PLAYING. He's on a minutes restriction and isn't playing in back to backs but that is expected. He's played 22 minutes a night and has played in 4 of 5 games so far.
Once Jared McCain returns the league might be in serious trouble. The Sixers look like they could be on par with the Pacers of last year if that makes sense. Of course the Pacers are dealing with big problems this season, the main one being Tyrese Haliburton being out. But the Sixers are really deep at guard and have a great big man. Joel Embiid is in a perfect world likely better than Myles Turner. These features are similar to what the Pacers had last year and I believe the Sixers could be significantly better. Plus the Sixers have great backup big men in Andre Drummond and Adem Bona. Also, Johni Broome is waiting and hopefully developing.
I mean just look at these beautiful numbers! Not only are five players scoring on average in the double digits, but all of them are averaging at least 17!!! That's nuts! Tyrese Maxey is averaging a silly 35 and ROOKIE V.J. Edgecombe is averaging 21! Just outstanding offensive production.
What's more impressive than just simply the numbers is, the Sixers have fought back in many of these games from intermediate-large deficits. They're skilled AND have mental toughness!
On Halloween the Sixers dropped their first game of the year in a one point loss to the Celtics.
At the conclusion of tonight's contest in Brooklyn, the Sixers will be 7 percent through their season. Every game counts! I hope they get win number 5 tonight! The Nets are 0-5 and so it's highly likely they'll get it done! It will be nice to watch them too as the Titans will likely get destroyed today. But hey if they both win that'd be legendary!
It's so fun watching winning basketball again! Let's go Sixers! This season feels special! Definitely gotta get some Sixers swag for my son for Christmas.

January 4th, 2025 - Philadelphia 76ers @ Brooklyn Nets
In The Machine's realm, he also just played the Nets, just like the Sixers are about to tonight! Pretty cool. The Machine had probably his best day as a pro! Absolutely going off and nearly getting a triple double while also scoring with great efficiency!
Here's what his legendary night looked like:
- 23 Points, 9 Rebounds, 9 Assists
- Shot 59% from the field
- Teammate Grade: A
Great stuff from the Machine and I think he's about to turn a corner!
The sports world never sleeps, till next time!

explain to me a bit more about this if you don't mind. Sure I could google it, but I'd rather talk to you about it.
It means that Embiid seems the healthiest he's been since two years ago. I've sort of accepted the fact that he's not going to be quite as dominant as he was before. It seems he's kind of got chronic knee issues at this point. But if the Sixers can be really conservative and strategic with his play time he can still hopefully be a strong contributor for a few more seasons. With a young core around him and decent big man depth with Drummond and Bona, Embiid can hopefully still provide a lot of value to the team. Even if he's like a Myles Turner-ish level talent that'd be pretty good.
Honestly Embiid's health in general is really mysterious and my expectations for him as a fan are fairly low. But in these first few appearances he's looked alright. There could be a scenario where his minutes are ramped up a bit but I'm just grateful as a fan he can hopefully help the team win. I kinda feel the same way about Paul George whenever he returns. If these veterans can still play at least moderate minutes the depth and talent can be pretty valuable and intriguing.
