76ers drop two straight... | They look to bounce back vs Jazz tonight
The Sixers remain inconsistent as ever. They were on a nice little winning streak, but now they look to avoid a three game losing streak.
Both recent losses were highly depressing. Sunday's loss vs the Celtics was a snooze fest. Center Neemias Queta had an excellent game for the Celtics, he had 27 points and 17 rebounds in just 27 minutes. Joel Embiid surely could have helped had he been available, but he wasn't. I don't know where the Celtics find these guys, they have been one of the deepest teams in the league for so many years now. Jayson Tatum hasn't been healthy all season long and the Celtics are still looking dominant. Big respect to Jaylen Brown of course. Tatum's return is imminent too so it looks like the Celtics are coming in hot all over again unfortunately...
Yesterday's game was worse. A lot worse. The Spurs held a forty-nine point lead at one point, and ultimately won by forty. Pathetic. Beyond pathetic. Well, I guess it was the Spurs, and they're straight up championship contenders, if not favorites. The Sixers' starters got some extra rest yesterday, but for the wrong reasons unfortunately.
Lucky for the Sixers, tonight they're facing one of the worst teams in the NBA in the Jazz, who look more interested in securing a high draft pick than securing victories.
The Sixers luckily, somehow STILL hold the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference but just by a hair. Literally, teams 7-10 are all massively breathing down their neck. The ninth seed Hornets look particularly hot right now with LaMelo Ball and rookie Kon Knueppel looking dangerous. Knueppel reminds me a lot of Klay Thompson.
The Sixers are now just about 3/4 of the way through their season. Paul George will be around eventually, hopefully Joel Embiid plays in the playoffs.
For now, all I can do is root the boys on! Tyrese Maxey is still doing his thing, and V.J. Edgecombe is still firmly in the Rookie of the Year race. The boys gotta have short term memory and focus on the task at hand! I Thank God I'm able to watch another Sixers contest.
