A's win convincingly over Rangers | Jeffrey Springs on the mound for second game tonight

The A's took control yesterday and never looked back! The A's won 8-1 and recorded 9 hits. 5 of those hits were home runs! More than half of their hits were homers! Nick Kurtz homered yet again, it was his fifth. Nick has homered in four of the past six games! Carlos Cortes hit his third and fourth home run! He had four RBI, so Cortes drove in half of the A's runs yesterday! I think the A's really have something with Cortes! Tyler Soderstrom hit his third homer and Zack Gelof hit his first! Sheesh! That's a lot of power on display in one game.

Luis Severino had his best outing of the season yesterday, and it came at the perfect time. He pitched 6 2/3 innings and allowed just a single run. Now that's what we like to see from Severino!

That's a great start to the series man. It's pretty much night and day talking about my two baseball teams LOL. The A's are now 14-12, and can secure the series win tonight and ensure they leave this series with the division lead no matter what happens tomorrow.

Jeffrey Springs is on the mound to try and do just that. Springs had a rough outing last time out but overall he's having a nice season and he pitched well against the Rangers on April 14th. The A's lineup will be against MacKenzie Gore.

Big game, let's see these bats stay hot!
