Cristopher Sánchez throws superb COMPLETE GAME for Phillies in a 4-1 victory over Red Sox
Yesterday was a great day for the Phillies. I am so grateful Cristopher Sánchez is a Phillie man! He has steadily grown into an elite MLB pitcher in my opinion. He is so well rounded on the mound, he can strike batters out, or force a ton of ground balls. He really is the best of both worlds. Yesterday, he threw his third complete game of his career while striking out twelve batters, leading the Phillies to a big win over a good team and securing a series victory over the Boston Red Sox. With the bullpen being a bit shaky, a complete game like that is so crucial for this Phillies team. Major props to Sánchez, it is a crime that he wasn't an All-Star! He practicaly always gives the Phillies a chance to win.
The offense was solid enough as well, Schwarber hit yet ANOTHER home run, his 33rd, Max Kepler has had an underwhelming 2025 but he hit his 11th home run as well. Dating back to his Twins days, Kepler has hit really well versus Boston! Also, Bryce Harper continues to play well, and he essentially stole home yesterday! Wild! One of the coolest plays ever is stealing home. He was safe in my opinion, but it was also ruled ANOTHER catcher's interference as he slid into home, so I'm not really sure what that's considered but yeah. Bryce is such an aggressive player, and when he's on it's so cool to watch. Harper is like the Kobe Bryant of Major League Baseball. Just pure intensity and skill.
Jesús Luzardo pitches tonight and I'd love to see him bounce back after his rough last start. If he can help the Phils secure a SWEEP that would be so great. I can't recall the last time the Phillies swept anyone. The Mets continue to be on the Phillies' heels in the NL East as they're just a half game behind. The Phillies must make that half game feel like five games to the Mets! Keep those Ws coming!
Big game, lets get that sweep!
