Jeffery Simmons and Chimere Dike named First-Team All-Pros! + Titans HIRE Robert Saleh as new HC!
Ah yes, a few weeks ago the Titans completed another rough season where they once again won only three games. BUT I am no fair weather fan. I will support them year in and year out. As bad as the season was, there are glimmers of hope. I hope LOL.
QB Cam Ward had a fairly decent rookie season. He showed improvements throughout the year and looks like a pro. He takes care of the ball well and just seems like he's a guy you can win with. He absolutely needs to level up a bit and I think there's a good chance he will. I feel as though he learned a lot in his rookie season and will be hungry to have a much better year two. He seems like a competitor which is great.
Another key to Cam's development will be on the Titans as an organization. They MUST emphasize getting some better pass catchers and perhaps grab a fresh running back. I like Pollard and Spears but they just feel average and I'm unsure if either one of them are actually every down backs. Pollard turns 29 in April and while I do find the dreaded '30 year old running backs stink' notion to be annoying at times it is something to think about. Also, Pollard is not exactly a very big guy.
I could be ok with keeping Pollard and Spears if the Titans can get their hands on some better receivers though. I feel like that's a bigger issue for the offense.
Some other glimmers of hope for the Titans is the defense and offensive line. The defense really looked worse because of the offense and the o-line looked worse because of having a rookie QB and a total lack of legit skill players.
Also on a fun note, the Titans had TWO First-Team All-Pros in DT Jeffery Simmons and ROOKIE punt returner Chimere Dike! How cool is that?! The 2025-26 Titans did have some fun moments and legit talent here and there. I'm glad that this notion can be highlighted by having two Titans considered as the best of the best.
Jeff and Chimere are also Pro Bowlers!

So yes, it was a rather depressing season, but there was some cool stuff here and there!
So now the Titans look to the future. The Titans needed a head coach and it appears they have chosen the defensive-minded Robert Saleh to be the next guy.
I'm ok with this hire. Not over the moon, not mad, just ok with it. I do think he can be a leader of men and I love his intensity overall. He's pretty similar to Mike Vrabel if I'm being honest and quite frankly I am ok with that. We need a traditional, and blunt coach like this. He has a ton of experience as well. He turns 47 in a week and I think that's a pretty good age for a new coach.
Saleh was a head coach before for the New York Jets and didn't find much success. I'm pretty sure that was with Zach Wilson and Aaron Rodgers at QB and it was just awkward. Also, the Jets seem to always stink no matter what and it is of course a mega big market/city in New York and that of course comes with a lot of pressure.
I'm hoping Saleh has learned a lot from that experience and maybe in a smaller market he'll find more success.

Even though the Jets weren't too great with Saleh, Saleh's defense in New York was pretty excellent. He's also pretty known for being the defensive coordinator of the 49ers in more recent history. Interestingly, Saleh has coached as an assistant with both the Texans and the Jags. It was a good amount of time ago, but I think even mild familiarity with the other teams and just the division in general can be a good thing.
I like the idea of being defensively sound at all times, hopefully Saleh can do well in that department in Tennessee.
So yes I'm pretty ok with Robert Saleh being the head coach. BUT I'm seriously waiting on who the next offensive coordinator will be. This role is massive obviously but for the Titans this selection feels crucial.
QB Cam Ward is entering just his second season and Saleh is of course more of a defensive guy. The next Titans OC will have a lot pressure.
Well, if Saleh can have a top defense, perhaps that is in fact how Saleh himself can help develop Cam. I know that Jeffery Simmons is happy he's got a defensive coach!

The Titans have a pretty promising young QB, two First-Team All-Pros on the roster, the #4 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, the MOST cap space in the NFL, a new head coach, and a new stadium being built.
It's hard to say if this will lead to a Super Bowl Championship soon, but it might. At least things seem to be looking up!
