Phillies fall to the Reds 6-1 yesterday, can still win series with a win today
Well yesterday was pretty uneventful for Phillies fans like myself. Can't be too upset of course since the Phillies have been pretty excellent recently. Ranger Suárez struggled pretty badly for the most part and hasn't really had too great of an outing in awhile. His second half of 2024 was worse than his second half of 2025 so far, but he still hasn't been great. There's still a lot of baseball to be played for Suárez to either improve or mimic 2024 again. I'm hoping he improves of course, the Phillies need him. I don't know what happens after the All-Star break for him, it's a bit odd. Hopefully he finds his way and this is a non-issue going forward! I am not too worried but it is something worth thinking about. The Phillies only managed to get five hits offensively yesterday one of which was a late solo homer by Bryce Harper, it was Harper's 18th.
The Phillies still hold a five game lead in the NL East, and I feel good seeing Cristopher Sánchez take the mound today. I am really enjoying watching him play lately. Whether he dominates or navigates a tougher start he always seems to stay competitive and give the Phillies a good chance to win. He seeks his 12th win today. The Phillies will be facing Hunter Greene of the Reds. Greene looks like a solid pitcher with a strong 2.72 ERA.
The series is 1-1 let's see who comes out on top in this final game! There was a delay towards the end of last night's game and today's game is delayed again. Hopefully the guys stay locked in despite the weather.
