Phillies get swept by Braves, and have lost FIVE straight... | Phils set to face Cubs AGAIN tonight
Welp, it may feel like déjà vu or like some glitch in the matrix but indeed it is not. The Phillies are genuinely repeating themselves consistently.
They lose again and can seemingly do nothing right at the moment. Can't pitch, can't hit. It's looking silly no doubt about it. Andrew Painter lasted just four innings on the mound yesterday, allowing three runs in that time. The bullpen may have been the only aspect of the game that looked decent yesterday. Offensively it really seems like the supporting cast is letting the team down in a big way. The stars like Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber are actually producing fairly well. Kyle Schwarber hit his seventh homer yesterday. Meanwhile Bryson Stott and Alec Bohm have been looking pretty bad at the plate lately.
Just about 13% of the season is complete and the Phillies are now five games under .500. Tick tock man! I hope they figure something out and fast. This article does an excellent job at highlighting just how bad things look for the Phillies at the moment. Their recent struggles haven't been seen by the Phillies in many years. Over a decade easily.
The Phillies now head into Chicago to face the team that began this losing streak for the Phillies in the first place in the Cubs. Ain't that something? Maybe they can start a winning streak against the very team that started this recent misery.
Aaron Nola is on the mound, let's hope he can be vintage Nola and have a quality start and just pray the offense decides to do something.
Come on boys wake up!

losing to Atlanta is nothing to be ashamed about at the moment. They are on fire.
Yeah, Atlanta’s definitely bouncing back after their down year last season. Just hoping the Phillies can find their rhythm. Still a lot of season left.
This is the thing about MLB... just because you are 12-4 right now does NOT mean you are one of the best teams. This is also something that kind of pisses me off about the baseball season. it is so damn long that teams often don't really even put their best team out there because they know this game is a marathon, not a sprint. We don't really get to see what all of these teams are truly capable of until we get close to the post-season.
I personally enjoy the long season but I see your point.
on one side it gives the fans an opportunity to see a game live for a much lower price so that is always a good thing. One of the main reasons why i have never been to an NFL game is because those prices are kept absurdly high by scarcity.
That's interesting yeah I never considered that about ticket costs! But yeah a ticket for a decent seat at an NFL game is definitely ridiculous, maybe someday lol
at the moment AI is choosing a Mariners vs Braves world series
Interesting, that seems pretty likely for sure.
Too early to tell of course but Braves v Dodgers would be awesome
Well they could meet in the NLCS but since they're in the same league they can't play each other in the World Series unfortunately. But an NLCS between them would be great!
