Phillies win series vs Red Sox! | Phillies visit Pirates for a PA Battle tonight!
The Phillies got the job done yesterday in what was basically a third consecutive pitchers' duel between them and the Red Sox. Seriously, the grand total score of this three game series was 6-5 for the Phillies LOL. Pretty wild. These teams seem similarly built I guess.
Jesús Luzardo had the upper hand ever so slightly against his former teammate and long time Phillie Ranger Suárez on the mound yesterday in Boston. The two were quite comparable though. Suárez had more strikeouts, but Luzardo got through 2/3 more innings and the Phillies ultimately won. It was definitely strange seeing Ranger against the Phillies!
Kyle Schwarber hit another homer yesterday, what else is new? The two-run shot came super clutch too as the game was tied 0-0 in the eighth and I was worried this game may reach extras. Schwarber has now hit seven homers in the past seven games and he's got 18 on the season! Incredible!
Today the Phillies are in western PA to face the other Pennsylvania team!

The Pirates are playing well in the ridiculously competitive NL Central. They are definitely building something solid in the Steel City.
Aaron Nola is on the mound today. I'm on the fence about Nola. I'm thinking maybe I've been too harsh on him but we'll see. He's certainly underwhelmed. I'm curious to see how today goes.
It's a beautiful night for baseball out west in Pittsburgh. High to mid 60's all night, mostly clear skies. Hopefully the Phillies can prove that they are still the premier Pennsylvania baseball team!
