Phillies win their series vs Atlanta but have now lost two straight + A.D. Hammer RTTS Part 56
Alright well, I believe I will be getting back into the swing of things again finally. I'm pretty confident I'll be back on track with the Phils for the most part.
The Phillies won their series against Atlanta which was outstanding, but since then have struggled a bit badly. The Phils haven't just lost but they've been outscored 15-5 in those losses. Additionally, the typically elite and reliable Zack Wheeler gave up six runs in Thursday's loss!
So, the Phillies have been moderately hot, but in very recent history, not so much. I wouldn't blame a single person either, the whole team needs to get locked in a bit. Long season of course, and lulls are bound to happen.
Of course the team's recent struggles come after Bryce Harper got drilled by a nasty pitch directly to his surgically repaired elbow the other day. That was pretty scary but x-rays came back negative which was great to hear. He's apparently quite bruised and sore, I hope he doesn't rush back. Harper is a rock steady, anchor of the lineup. His offensive firepower is something the team will have to try and overcome but it won't be easy whatsoever. Alvarado and Harper being gone at the moment, is tough to deal with but, hopefully this can push the other players shine.
Jesús Luzardo is on the mound today so hopefully his presence can be a breath of fresh air. He's a young player, and has been super consistent. Lets hope he can provide some stability!
