Sixers seek fourth straight win in Boston tonight!
Well, the Sixers continue to baffle me but this time their confusion has been a positive thing.
Joel Embiid has been back. The Sixers are on a winning streak. Both of these things are fairly new developments. It's awesome.
The Sixers can win their fourth straight game tonight, directly after going on a four game losing streak. Pretty nuts.
On Tuesday the Sixers absolutely wrecked the the Pacers, and then Thursday the Sixers won a crucial, tightly contested game vs the Heat. The Sixers almost choked away that game but they managed to hold on in the end. Embiid scored 27 and then 26 in each of those games in that order in his first games back in a while. He was huge against the Heat, him and fellow big man Bam Adebayo were going at it back and forth.
The return for Embiid is brief though, as now he's set to miss the next three games straight and is supposed to be re-evaluated. This emotional rollercoaster continues as a fan. Last time he was out a while I leaned towards the annoyed side of things, now I'm back to mostly feeling bad for him. This is all vibes because again, this injury situation is still so mysterious from my perspective but yeah. He randomly comes back for two games and is set to miss three again? This is so confusing, and why is it he's dedicated to miss three only? Why not four, five or six? Does this mean he's optimistic to be back after three games?
Oh well, it was nice to see him back and well, hopefully he's doing the smart thing by resting up again.
The timing in losing Embiid is unfortunate as the Sixers are facing their rival and #2 seed in the East, in the Boston Celtics tonight. The Sixers remain permanently stuck at the #6 spot which is fair enough.
The Sixers are set to face the powerhouse Spurs on Tuesday so yeah, without Embiid that is gonna be really challenging. No idea how they'll handle Victor Wembanyama.
But let's just take this one step at a time.
The Sixers began this win streak without Embiid when they beat the Timberwolves, I think they can do the same against the Celtics tonight!
Maxey, Edgecombe, Oubre Jr., and Grimes need to lock in, as well as Barlow and Drummond of course! And everyone else!
