The Machine NBA2K25 Career Pt. 18 + 🌎My Thoughts on the Sports World Today🌎

November 30th, 2024 - Philadelphia 76ers @ Detroit Pistons

It was another struggle scoring for The Machine in the Motor City, but the team got the win which is all that matters. It was also pretty fun playing against Cade Cunningham. I'm sure there will be more battles vs Cade throughout The Machine's career!

The Machine finished with:

  • 3 Points, 4 Rebounds, 7 Assists
  • B- Teammate Grade

🌎My Thoughts on the Sports World Today🌎

In the real world, UFC 318 goes down tonight! Dustin Poirier and Max Holloway fight for the third time and MY GOSH this is going to be absolute cinema! I know that term absolute cinema gets tossed around a lot, but this time it's truly the best phrase to use! I am a massive fan of both fighters. In particular Dustin is like a top three favorite of mine EVER. Both guys are Hall of Famers easily. Both guys have highlight reels for days and are beloved by MMA fans everywhere. Max has been a champion, Dustin was never a full champ but he was an interim champ and his list of victories over former champs and high level talent I feel like grants him honorary champ status. In fact he has two wins over Max already! He also has two wins over Conor McGregor and a win over Eddie Alvarez, who were well known champs!

Also, tonight there isn't a belt on the line officially but there is the moderately respected 'BMF' belt up for grabs. I'm not sure why Holloway still owns it considering he lost to Ilia Topuria recently but oh well. I'm not too bothered by that. Tonight is Dustin's retirement fight! If he can finish his career by grabbing the belt from Max, going 3-0 against a a legend like that, it would just be glorious. Lil Wayne is walking Dustin out! IN NEW ORLEANS!!!!

Tonight feels BIGGER than most title fights in my opinion!

I'm pulling for Dustin BIG TIME. If Max plays spoiler I would be rather dissapointed. But it would be wild from Max's perspective, and it's certainly very possible. Max is capable of beating nearly anyone and I doubt he wants to be 0-3 against another fighter like he is against Alexander Volkanovski. Last time Max fought at lightweight he had a crazy knockout against Justin Gaethje.

This is gonna be nuts!!!! I think Dustin wins though. I think he's too powerful and fluid for Max. He also has the last fight energy in him. But who knows! MMA is so unpredictable!!

In NBA news, Damian Lillard returned to the Portland Trailblazers after a stint in Milwaukee. I really love that loyalty! A lot of guys would maybe chase a super team or a big market. But Lillard is built different! I was so glad to see it. He means a lot to that fanbase.

The MLB All-Star game was the other day and it was pretty enjoyable. The whole week was pretty nice actually. I was glad to see the players back in their team's jerseys for the big game, rather than 'AL' and 'NL' jerseys. It looks so much cooler and unique on the field. Next year the game will be in Philadelphia. My neck of the woods! It would be so cool to take my son there. We'll see.

The sports world never sleeps, till next time!
