Hello everyone, it’s Hive Music Festival Week 130 Round 1. In this week’s submission, I will be dropping a cover of the song “You Are Great” by Steve Crown, a popular gospel singer and songwriter from Nigeria. I actually love most of Steve Crown’s songs, especially this particular one, “You Are Great.” It’s really because of this song that I got to know Steve Crown when the song went viral. I really enjoy listening to the song.
One of the reasons why I love this song is the fact that it’s a gospel song. I love gospel songs and the singers a lot because most of the gospel songs I listen to are meaningful and communicate a vital message to humanity. Take, for instance, this particular one from Steve Crown, he was acknowledging and proclaiming how great our God is, and also the great things He has done, as written or recorded in the Bible. The message is clearly communicated, and I commend the effort of the songwriter for that.
Also, I must admit the efforts of the backup singers and instrumentalists in this song. First, I would like to say that the instrumentalists are amazing and talented individuals who understand their roles in music. As such, everyone handles their part correctly as expected. They all communicate with their musical instruments so well. There’s no excessive noise from any of them, and no one goes off-key. Everything just blends well.
And the backup singers also did so greatly. They attacked the song as expected and sang their various parts so well. I really admire the way they skillfully carried out their responsibilities. The set of people singing the tenor sang their parts well; even the altos did well in their capacity. So, I commend their efforts greatly.
