Rising Star Meme #19 - Rising Star Time Investment, Potential and Strategy

So, you've been wondering how much you can make in Rising Star?
Or maybe you've been wondering whether or not you are making the optimal STARBITS on your account??

Well, GOOD NEWS!! Since I'm gonna answer those questions... somewhat actually.

Good thing about Rising Star's economy

is that there is not a 'single' and 'absolute' way of RISING. You can choose from any one of the ways below (or a combination of them) to get your music career up and running:

  • Flipping cards (I don't really do it much, but it works for some)
  • HODLing cards and doing missions (I do it and look at it as a passive income)
  • Trading Cards (Another method that has gotten me some really good, out of print cards)
  • Burning STARBITS and HODLing STARPRO (This one is my long-term vision actually)
    etc...

There are a whole lot of opportunities around and more are coming with every update. (SPOILER: Jux has said that there's some big update and addition is in development as of now, but it takes a bit to get here.)

Time Investment

I'm playing Rising Star 24/7 (literally, well, maybe a bit less, but all day is what I'm aiming at). I do the 5-min to 1-hour missions each 5 times before switching to the longer ones (during which I sleep, go about my day, etc...). No Music Lessons since I got some extra Skills to cover my Ego for the next days, so I'm more mission-focused currently.

Even when I had like 11-12K Fans, I could make +10K on good days which lasted for a few consecutive days until I became a bit lazy lol.
But the thing is, not everyone got that much time on their hands, so you can grind a bit and compete with those with who got a couple thousand more Fans on their hands.

NOTE: Having enough Skills, or Luck to get enough Skills from doing Music Lessons to cover the Ego is necessary for this method (thus a decent investment in Instruments). Make sure you can recover the burned Skills doing less than 2-3 Music Lessons as to not deviate yourself from earning more.

Potential

As discussed in the previous section, I'd say 10K SB from like 15K Fans is a fair estimation, but that could change if you've got a terrible day, so do keep that in mind.

Now this STARBITS income doesn't increase in a linear way as you gain more Fans due to the game not increasing the minimum STARBITS gained when gaining fans and due to the thing I'd like to call "the curve".

Strategy

Now, the strategy is another thing to consider. I currently follow the high-risk/high-reward as I described vaguely before.
Since I'm aiming for Rising Star's ENDGAME, I'm looking to stack Fans and these Fans take time to earn their cost - 3 months is a good number to go by atm for those who are curious.
Normally, the long missions are the way as they give more STARBITS rewards, don't need much energy, take the time of the day (right into when Ego-gain resets) and give the least ego compared to the rewards.
All good if you're going by the game's normal flow...

BUT

As the game is designed, you can stack fans and increase the max STARBITS gained - around 50 Fans per 1 STARBITS increase. The number of Fans required will increase as you gain more fans (<--- THIS IS THE CURVE). This process benefits the shorter missions much more (1 STARBITS increase amounts to more % of increase overall) ALSO you can do many more 5-min missions and benefit more from this increase.

The downside, however, is the amount of EGO you'd be gaining, the amount of attention the game would require as you'd be doing more shorter missions AND the energy needed to spam these short missions as they are more demanding energy-wise.

This strategy needs a solid investment in Fans and Luck, but when you master it, you'd be learning more than the average person playing.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
This strategy is more suitable for bigger players (with more investment) as mere few couple thousand Fans doesn't increase the max STARBITS gain much too much to make the difference from longer vs. shorter missions worthwhile.

Great post. This might be one of the most important aspects of the game, if you want to have a good starbits income, for the long term.
