Rising Star Meme #45 - A Few Words of Advice

A Problem

Now, there's nothing wrong with joining giveaways as they are reflections of Rising Star's great community, but I wanted to take a moment and nag a little bit.

You see me mocking and joking a lot about new players as they are new to the environment and are more susceptible and vulnerable to being scammed or making mistakes, and there are people who want to take advantage of them. And that, in my opinion, is a problem.

A Solution(?)

There's nothing I can do about the people with ill intent, but I do my best to try and educate through what little means I have(i.e the memes). No one likes to read entire pages of tutorials just to start playing a game(my problem with HashKings). Fortunately, Rising Star was designed to fulfill that perfectly - a game you can jump right in and learn as you go. But we can't neglect the 'learning' part of the deal.

That's why I try to do that little by little through these daily 'memes'. One step at a time and I try to keep the explanations to a minimum, but some can't be helped. So, if you don't have the time, I advise you to at least try to understand the whole premise and the idea, rather than skipping it completely.

What Happened

was that a play bought a "Skill Booster" thinking it was some special card due to its price, while I'd clearly done a meme explaining that. Now, I don't expect every single person to have read all my memes, but if you see fit, try to spread the ones you think are important to lessen these mistakes even further.

Speaking of Mistakes

The other day I saw a fella who wanted to transfer to their Binance account and they were prompted to send their Hive to the address "deepcrypto8", but they made a mistake and sent it to "deecrypro8" and lost their money. Just wanted to give a headsup over these simple mistakes that could easily be avoided.

Always:

  • Dobule-check the address you type
  • Triple-check the amount you are about to send
  • If possible, even copy-paste the addresses and amounts AND double-check those as well

It is "decentralized web", you are in charge of your money and assets and responsible for them. If you lose them, there's no "bank" or "third party" or any "insurance service" to keep your funds safe, so do keep that in mind.
