Those who have struggled with the Audition missions in Rising Star know how tedious and nerve-wracking they are. Hours of stressful grinding for a mere 1 in 5 chance of unlocking a band slot (1 in 10 chance for Manager, I assume)

Strategies

There are multiple strategies involving tackling the auditions, I've seen some trying to power through them with pure spamming and, in my case, I did it over time to not miss out on daily rewards.

How Exactly I Unlocked My Band

I've only managed to unlock the Band Slots so far, but here's how I did it anyway:

Before I got to Level 75 (the level requirement for auditions) I was only doing regular missions that only rewarded STARBITS. As you already know, if you want to be as efficient as possible, you'd probably need to do the missions which are shorter or equal to one hour during the day and leave an X-hour mission for when you go to bed.

Well, long story short, I did two 4-hour auditions every day when I went to bed. (sometimes three) And yes, I did set an alarm to wake up at midnight to start another one. It worked like a charm and I could get all of my band slots unlocked without losing much on daily STARBITS rewards.

It took me 14 tries (I got really lucky here) to get all of the slots. Considering the strategy I explained, something around a week or so.

An Important Note

If you haven't got a stack of XP Boosters and are not planning to reach the end of the 4th area ASAP, there's no need to be rushing your Auditions and losing rewards. The first mission (the 5-min one) in the third area unlocks at level 80 and you'd need to the First Rehearsal Room to be able to do it. Moreover, you'll be increasing the base Ego in the previous areas, so do keep those facts in mind before deciding to set foot in the third area :D

On what level did you unlock the next area? Is level 80++ good for the rewards?

I was something around 85-90 when I got access to the missions in the third area.
The first mission needs LVL 80
The second mission needs LVL 85
The third mission needs a whopping LVL 100!!

Certainly having access to more missions lets you have more combinations and better reward output, but rushing into the third area for just a 5-min mission (that has a lower rewards output than the Radio Interview) and increasing the first area's missions' Ego-gain is not worth it IF you're not prepared.

I don't have much recollection of the first area's Ego pattern when I was in the second area, but now that I am in the third one, it goes like 2/4/4/7/7 each time you do them and it sits at 9 Ego after the 5th try. It's not worth it Ego-wise, but if you've got a solid number of instruments and you can get back the Ego gained throughout the day in a Music Lesson or two, then go ahead.

The idea is that if you're doing more missions in the first area than the last one, don't pump the base Ego you gain (from the first one) since you're... well, doing more missions in the first area, thus getting more Ego.

Thank you for this awesome input, I guess I am not ready for the 3rd area unlock. It's better to prepare with more guitar cards.

2/4/4/7/7 5 mins mission x 2 area = 48 ego in total. Do you think 75-100 skills per lesson is enough?

The first and second area's 5-min missions will have different Ego patterns once you enter the third area. I do the 5, 10, and 25 min ones in the first area 5 times a day each. Sometimes more if I've been done with other area's missions which take less than an hour.

If you can afford to do the Music Lesson twice every day to get at least 150 Skills (75*2), then you'd be in a good spot and can go crazy with whatever pattern you want to do your missions.
