Rising Star Meme #70 - Beware of Your FANS!!

The Premise

The other day I hit 30K fans and it's been... an eye-opening(?) experience, I'd say. You see, from my previous understanding, your Ego-gain rate had only two ways of increasing:

• Entering a new Zone
• Gaining Fans

New Zone

Well, everyone experiences that after one or two weeks of dedicated playing and it's so obvious. Also, usually, you see your Ego gain initially start with 1, and once you enter the next Zone, it increases another +1, and a result, your Ego-gain in the first Zone right after the midnight reset goes down to 2 and starts building up.

Not many have experienced opening the third and fourth Zones and as a person who has unlocked the third one, I can say that the third zone increases the second one's initial Ego by +1, and increases the first Zone's gain rate, meaning by doing a mission it goes up by +2 for example.

Fan Gain

Everyone knows that gaining Fans does increase the max STARBITS gain (50 Fans for +1 in the MAX), but not everyone understands that your Ego-gain also DOES increase after certain milestones.

My understanding was that your initial Ego each day would increase (didn't know how much) for each 10K Fans you gain, but...

NOW THIS IS THE SCARY PART!!

I WAS WRONG!!
I'd been monitoring my Ego daily to see when it increases, but it never did!
Not 10K, not 20K... but it was in fact 30K that increased my initial Ego...
I've been volatilizing above and below 30K due to my drunk fans in the past few days and I can say that it DOES, in fact, increase significantly.

The 18 Ego you see in the meme is the Ego I'd get from illegal busking - not the first time tho, the first time it adds the same +2 Ego as before, but it increases more rapidly.

I was lucky to have gone on a shopping spree and have bought +20 or something Rare instruments way back - I did regret it at the time, but it has helped reduce the impact of the change in the Ego-gain rate. I DO have to tweak my strategy and pattern here and there tho

One Final Note

Not really sure (the drunks rapidly come and go) that the initial Ego/Ego-gain rate doubled, or it just went +3 (as my Fans had increased by 3*10K Fans), but one thing for sure, consider this a heads up before you fall into this.
Also, staying just below 30K Fans enables you to get the maximum rewards while gaining the least number of Ego daily, so you can get a respite and build up some juice for another spike!
