Rising Star Meme #82 - Our Actions Describe Us

meme82.png

You might have seen me talk about the 'community' a lot - or at least that's what I think I've been doing most of the time. But I don't think I can stress how important it truly is and everyone has to get an idea/understanding of it over time and different events.

What is a Community?

A simple Google search shows:

a group of people living in the same place or having a particular characteristic in common.

But I like this one better:

a unified body of individuals: such as the people with common interests living in a particular area broadly

I think that describes us playing RSG sufficiently. But what is really important lies in the question that...

What is this Community good for, actually??

And the answer to that question is what makes all the difference!
You see, we have Splinterlands, and its players - Splinterlands Community!
You don't see much interaction with projects like Rabona, Exode, dCrops, dCity, and such on Hive, and, to me, they are somewhat dead!

Don't get me wrong tho, I'm not saying they're bad projects or anything! But no big interactions (or at least on my Radar) and they seem somewhat dead.

That's why I used to post 3-4 posts a day about Rising Star some time ago! The rewards and curation were one reason, but actually showing that the game was alive was a point to be made, really! (I quit Rising Star the same day I created my account for two months since I thought it was a ghost town!)

Right now, new players are doing the deed and I'm only doing my daily giveaway and meme-ing (and sometimes tutorials) here and there.

These giveaways, although small, done by a large number of people in the community is yet another thing giving newbies incentives to join in on the fun. Little efforts result in big stuff happening, y'know!

The Journey is NOT Finished!

We haven't gotten to the "Hacker" or "Scammer" parts, yet!

As you know, we're promoting "decentralization" and that compels us not to have an organization/person overseeing us! So we should be the ones to stay vigilant about our possessions and what we do here. Funds gone are GONE FOR GOOD!

There's no one going around catching the 'bad guys' trying to scam or hack people. We, as a community, should be the ones contributing to the cause. YES! The devs are monitoring stuff and keeping things safe, but they can only do so much...

Two great examples of these contributions are Foxon's RSGFAM and Foxon's card buyer bot (that buys and returns cards that were listed cheap - either due to mistyped price or wrong price symbol), and this bot has solved a long-term notorious problem we've had with people trying to list their stuff!

These two were only two examples, there's more that can be done to improve the game and I ask the players not to shy away from providing feedback or ideas! Even if you think your idea is incomplete or missing something, feel free to say that in the #community-proposals channel in Rising Star's Discord!
One idea leads to another, or another person can suggest what one idea is missing and we might come up with great stuff to actually better the game's experience for everyone!

So, there's always something to improve or service to be provided as QoL, and I as y'all to join the cause!

I think that's enough for now, feel free to drop a comment below and I'll get to you in a day. (If I miss that, do drop an @almightygrim so I get a notification for that)

Stay healthy and keep Rising!
Cheers~

Thanks for reaching out. I heard about your project a couple of days ago but unfortunately haven't had the time to look deeper into it.

I'll put it on my list next and see about that :)
