Rising Star Meme #86 - What's Your Next Move? Don't Tell!

Well, it applies to almost anything out there - work, life, even in-game plans... really, ANYTHING.

But this time we're gonna talk about the game's "next move" and that would be...

The Next Update (or Addition)

I really like Rising Star's approach to the game's updates/additions - "not telling". Well, not extreme confidentiality, but not a detailed explanation before the update is even out, either!
That gives the players a somewhat "let's go and explore the game" mindset and that's really cool.

You might say that "well, it's our money and we should know!" and I think that's a perfectly fair argument! But there's a catch as there always is!!

Repel the Sharks!

When the plans are not discussed in detail, sharks are less likely to strike and try to make a profit off of the event.

It wasn't brought up to my attention until one day I uploaded a video of me opening a Chaos Legion pack on threespeak and a guy commented and was like "there were good times when no one knew about the game and nothing was hyped... less price tags for cards too!"

And to be honest, he was right! People see the opportunities and try to get a piece of them for themselves, but sharks are a bit different, they got loads of juice, and losing a couple of bucks here and there wouldn't hurt them. They plan everything and strike. Might even manipulate the market a bit here and there and end up sweeping off all the rewards.

Not that they're entirely bad or anything, but I'm sure the typical gamer or those playing for the fun of it, don't like the prices being manipulated or increased artificially! Yeah, if the game is doing okay, then, sure, why not! But if it's a fake spike followed by a huge dump, I'm sure no one is gonna be happy about that!

Rising Star's approach has been quite interesting as well

Always keeping the surprise! In late January waiting for New Cards Day and we got Juliet (Valentine's event).
We thought the next Special Card would be Halloween, but then S40 Douglas came. FanClub utility and more Zones are in development, but then again, we don't know about them in detail and I think that's vital to a game's health 🤔
