In the broader world I would suggest just that.
The more you feed into the system, the more their system grows.
You buying into the corporate warehouses is the parasites' bread and butter.
You use the company script in the company owned store.
Welcome to wage slavery.
IF you didn't know before, you damn sure do now.
You don't have to accept it, the facts accept you.
The same principle is at work in the hive.
Let's take a flight of fancy, I'm enjoying those more in my dotage.
Let's suppose that hive is the greatest crypto yet invented?
At some point others realize that and we return to the prekneecappening days of being #3 in the world.
Imagine that newbs?
We were there, top of of the heap, and rich people f**ked it up.
Largely the same rich people not wanting to let the coin distribute now.
It is not unlikely that the current powers that be are intentionally leading us into becoming the betamax of crypto.
Maybe the kneecappening was intentional, for just this reason:
Hive is the best technology in the field.
Any wondering why control freaks are trying to control the pond?
Letting one drop leak out diminishes, in their minds, their control of the entire planet.
Once word gets out, and mass adoption takes over, it will be too late to lock the doors.
You are very early in this adoption cycle.
Even those of us that were sold on the original dream coming up on 7 years ago.
Powering down and leaving is just what 'they' want you to do.
This should be becoming obvious to those that have been here long enough, but those that get paid to look the other way never talk about such things because their supper depends on keeping your eye off the ball and their self censorship of controversial concepts.
Much like the broader world.
I very much prefer to sit by and watch the crocodile tears being shed over our 'ice cream munies'.
This is why they pick us off one by one.
It keeps any one of us from holding the power they crave soooo much.
I've had power.
It wasn't a pleasant experience, for me.
Sure, it was fun while it lasted, but looking back on it now, and being capable of recognizing wrong doing in myself, I'd just as soon have done all that different.
Lot's of good that insight does me now.
As a hivizen, it is your duty to remain, take you daily ice cream cone, and laugh at those that would manipulate us into leaving.
It's not much, but it is what I currently have.

Extraordinary has been happening for several years, if you ask me. While my days are full of performing mundane tasks, those tasks are now done in a surreal and extraordinary world.
So I went to a lovely piece of this planet today, after filling up my water container with good spring water. I stood there, very still in body and mind, for five seconds - this is all it takes - and felt my extraordinary power as a node of human consciousness and love. Not mundane at all. If we all did this, in addition to hoarding coins and a few other very simple things, we could dissolve the surreal and live in realities of human making, not AI.

I recognize some of the ideas you bring up here, and am happy that such beliefs are shared, that such truths aren't solitary, because that's what creates society: a shared dream, a vision that all can work to achieve.

The corporate platforms got approved from the start, but alternative ways to view utub require additional approval.
Apparently, I am the only one here using more private, open source, ways to view utub.
Folks will make their own judgments on the why of the demonstrated fealties to corporate bs.

My anonymizer extension blocks utub links so that they don't mine my data and cut me out of the deal.
I get tired of looking at the blocked utub links, so I encourage folks to use yewtu.be links instead, but they get blocked by peakd.
The peakd team told me if enough people ask for them, they would do the work for yewtu.be links to not be blocked.
So far, I guess not enough people have asked.
Peakd could add the anonymizer that forwards all utub links to yewtu.be instead, but that hasn't happened, yet, either.

The more that all of us bands together and makes community investments... The stronger the people become.
IF we are gonna attract more people, we need to be more cohesive as a community, imo.
Rather than an inner circle calling the shots we need enough newbs to stick around and power up to overcome this hurdle in our way.
I absolutely believe that you are totally and completely correct.
We need to onboard and invest in other new individuals.
Super large accounts really should power down or figure out some way to decentralize the power.
Then of course you have individuals who previously have gotten nuked and attacked by others now doing the same thing.
I got attacked because one individual was extremely invested in an unsourced news article that still to this day hasn't been sourced and has massive amounts of holes in its narrative. However with the catchy headline, and a little bit of personal motivation I have now become a target for talking about the news....
We absolutely do need to put an awful lot of work into building our community Network.
To make a living off HIVE would be a dream, but the last seven years Hive, in particular, helped me with some issues, so unless I trade that for some off-the-cuff moonshot in between, it doesn't score high in my case.
Yes, the 'values' here are far too money centric, iyam.
