The Daily Meme #441!

All hierarchies have a certain few insiders that control things.
This is why they are depicted as pyramids.
Maybe one person at the top, maybe a group of persons, but all hierarchies are built on the principal of rule from top down.

Hiearchies are the antithesis of dao's, imo.
Hard to be decentralized when a small percentage of the whole controls all things.

Hive likes to purport itself as a dao.
A decentralized autonomous organization.
We use it as a selling point.
'Buy hive, we are not like the other coins.'
'We are web3.'

I'd say that is a nice goal to have, but we are definitely not there, yet.
Too much web2.0 still occurring here.

As long as the top 20 accounts continue to control where 50% of the inflation goes we will remain a hierarchy.

As long as we remain a hierarchy we are a threat to all other hierarchies because, obviously, there can only be one at the top of the power structure to which all below ultimately answer.

This is a known flaw in hive's implementation.
Hive's design included steps to mitigate against this, and they are working, but they are less effective due to resistance from those that currently control our dao hierarchy.

This control was needed when steem's hive's market cap was 15 million usd.
I won't be faulting those involved for stepping off the way they did, I believe it was necessary at the time.

However, those days were known to be numbered.
We cannot sell ourselves as a dao as long as we continue to be a hierarchy.
Until our central few willingly concede power, what we have is the best we can expect.

We will know our success when it takes 1000 accounts to give the first 50% of rewards out.

Until then we are spinning the truth when we use words like 'decentralized' in the context of the chain being free from control by a few.

It simply is not.

Are you are tired of paying your masters to bomb children in far away places?
Perhaps it is time you pushed back on that.
A simple way that anybody can do that is to hoard your coins.
A dollar of change in your pocket is a dollar of value out of the banksters' pockets that force us to pay them so they can play in the amusement parks from hell and shop in the human grocery stores.
'Aint that fresh?'

Metal in your own possession will always have more intrinsic value than digits on a bankster's ledger.

Oh, awesome! I just changed the node on Peakd, and I'm able to post again. Didn't know it was that easy to fix the issue, lol.
Must be a problem with "api.hive.blog", for me.
Thanks, I appreciate the tip!

I think HIVE might be different than today and the rewards might be distributed among many more users if the number of whales increases.

It's probably better that some of the whales sell.
More buyers solves most of the problems.

It wasn't always this way.
There is a line to be crossed and it mostly has to do with facts not being correct.
