The Daily Meme #500!

Most people have no clue about the math of the reward pool.
They take their pittance and are happy with it.
By far the largest majority powers it down and dumps it.

Why wouldn't they, this game is impossibly hard to win.
When they figure out that climbing to the top of the ranks is not gonna happen, why wouldn't they take what we gave them as a win?
2.4 million people have a good shot at being right.

If you agree that the top 20 accounts should take half of what is on the table for us all and then justify themselves by pointing the finger at the folks dumping the crumbs allowed to trickle down to them as the source of the problem, you will want to stay away from flagging folks for that.
Don't follow the 'x' accounts.

For those of us that aren't here solely for the rewards, nor to climb to the top of the rich lists, it is still important to flag 'bad' content.
It is just as important as upvoting 'good' content.

In fact, it is more important.
The squeaky wheels get the grease.

Flag some abuse, today!

Are you are tired of paying your masters to bomb children in far away places?
Perhaps it is time you pushed back on that.
A simple way that anybody can do that is to hoard your coins.
A dollar of change in your pocket is a dollar of value out of the banksters' pockets that force us to pay them so they can play in the amusement parks from hell and shop in the human grocery stores.
'Aint that fresh?'

Metal in your own possession will always have more intrinsic value than digits on a bankster's ledger.

What's so civil about war, anyway?

There are even users who don't know what HIVE, HP and HBD is. Getting rewards into wallet after 7 days is great, however I think we should know how our blockchain runs.

looking at the comments the x flagging project received mostly bad feedback. You have an interesting choice of "friends" :)

It's not about friends, it's about playing the game by the rules.

Do you like having half your rewards taken by the top 20 accounts?
I can't state the math exactly, but if the top was lowered to the top 1000 getting the first 50%, rather than the top 20, the coin would be spreading to more hands.

And, I think your poll may be skewed by the lack of political popularity of the facilitator of the x accounts.
I don't support everything they have done, but I certainly support seeing the distribution widened.

I get the point about spreading the rewards more, however reliable witnesses are super important to the existence of the chain so I would go as low as 1000 accounts, maybe 100 ?

The witnesses get paid from the inflation directly, 10% of the inflation created by the chain, anything they take from the pool is intended for creators.
If they are good ones, and not just farming their fame, that is a good thing.
None of the witnesses are working for tips in restaurants.
None of the witnesses are homeless.
Nor should they be, they are world class developers, mostly.

What the rub is is that the fewer people made richer than the rothschilds by a moonshot in hive the better.
I think that too many people in the crypto market know that our dear founders and earliest adopters still hold more than 50% of the coins.
Albeit, psuedoanonymously.
Nobody is paying abuse hunters to tie those accounts together.

Buying in makes these folks even richer, and anybody aware of their history here may have emotional feelings about what they did to maintain their percentage of the whole, ie, stay ahead of the inflation at all costs, and those feelings prevents those people from buying back in despite having positive feelings about the tech.
Some very big crypto names were driven away because the greedy wanted to maintain their grips on power.

The fights were quite vicious.
Many that left expressed that the toxicity is what drove them away.
Not all of them were spammers, some were quite good creators.
Too good for some.

Why would people buy in to make even richer the people that drove them from the pool because of their greed?
Why would anybody that knows the real stories put money into hive?

Why should we, the community, continue to tolerate concentration of power?
Do we agree that tyrants should be free to be tyrannical?

We are still handicapped by stinc having launched the chain, imo.
The gang of favorites they subsequently put into power are still in power today.
Who do you think the top 50 accounts are?
Who do you think holds the 1/3 of hive on the exchanges?
What about all the hp in dead accounts?
Do we honestly think those are just random people with a few hundred/thousand dollars to abandon?
Some of the top 50 bought their way in, others got there by being early and favored by the status quo, and some ninjamined.

The sooner those folks get what they need to stop reaping the pool, the better, imo.
The ones holding on for the sake of power are the worst among them, and the last we should grant power to.
Yet, those that don't know their history still vote them rewards.

And, just to be clear where I stand, I don't care how much anybody has, I only care how much influence they exert on the distribution pool.
If they powerdown and hold it in their wallets, I'm good with that.
They could even hold it in savings.
But, reaping the pool 'because they can' is not something I'm gonna shut up about.

So, whales, voluntarily adopt a cut off of say, 1000mv, and enforce it so that people have a chance of climbing up the ladder faster.
No need to divest what you have over 1000mv, just turn it into hbd and you get more than you get from controlling the pool, anyway.
Almost double.
As the number of people with 1000mv grows we can up the cutoff to match the situation.

Combined with a custom not to vote rewards to dumpers, perhaps we can start climbing our way out of this (less) stincy hole.

wow, this should have been a posts in itself. Unfortunately I don't see anybody with influence like blocktrades willing to have a serious debate on this topic

(Edited)

It isn't easy for some to voluntarily surrender power.
And, I can see why he wouldn't want to buy up the dumpers when he can just give it to himself, instead.

I don't agree that we should allow power to continue to concentrate in fewer and fewer hands.
