What good is power if you can't use it to give advantage to those you approve of?

Doing so helps hold down those that don't meet with your approval.
Thereby cementing your grip on power.

Anybody that wants power over others is the most likely to be tyrannical.
Pretty hard to be tyrannical when you are turning down opportunities to exercise control over those with less power than you.

Every day these 20 accounts, held by less than 20 people, exercise control over where 56% of the inflation goes.

So, if you did the math for yourself, you see that 20 accounts split 56% of the inflation while ~12,000 split the other 44%.

How anybody can say with a straight face that this will lead to anything but more centralization of a coin already too centralized is beyond me.

I think we can safely assume that the 1/3 of the hive (source) on exchanges is largely owned by these same accounts.
This leads me to suspect that we have a very large hill to overcome here.

Why would outsiders invest when they will see that investment immediately diluted by those with the most?

Unless you are favored by one, or more, of these accounts your investment will be diluted in favor of those that are approved by these >20 accounts.

Here is the cutoff line:

~552,000hp needed to have 1000mv.

The only way to quickly rectify this power disparity is for more people with less hive to buy more hive.

The very least you can do as a productive hivizen is not be selling your hive.
If you feel the need to be proactive, stop voting rewards to people that dump.

Every single one of us should be flagging abuse.
Fat chance of that.

I don't blame the people keeping the price from collapsing from accumulating enough to fatally centralize the coin, I blame those that are selling.

It's my contention that all newbs should be strongly encouraged to power up everything they have until they can give away a stand alone vote that doesn't round down, about 800hp.

If all our newbs did this we would quickly see some distribution of the coins not ending up in the hands of those that already have too much.

If we could further impress on these 20 accounts that allowing that inflation to spread to more hands raises all boats, perhaps we could start floating our way out of this hole that is the price below 5usd.

Anybody selling hive they have earned for less than 5usd is ripping off all of us that come here and contribute content in return for author/curator rewards from the community.

If you are doing that, please stop.
If you are voting rewards to people that are selling, stop doing that, too.

We are not that large as a collective, we should be able to impress the importance of not dumping on the collective consciousness.

We just need people making it a priority.
