Hey, what happened to all the pay to play haters?

We ran the one I won't name from the platform for selling his votes.
We put a 'legitimate' business owner out of business(he's the one flagging this post).
We crushed untold numbers of bit players.

Now we just turn a blind eye to all that because folks are using 2nd layer tokens to hide it?

I got nothing against 2nd layer tokens only curating holders of their token with more of those tokens, but when I get hive rewards from the pool for holding/buying and burning your token, that is vote selling.
Plain and simple.

Selling for wholesale by delegating for profit is also vote selling, just on a grander scale.

Has mammon co-opted our souls?

Are you are tired of paying your masters to bomb children in far away places?
Perhaps it is time you pushed back on that.
A simple way that anybody can do that is to hoard your coins.
A dollar of change in your pocket is a dollar of value out of the banksters' pockets that force us to pay them so they can play in the amusement parks from hell and shop in the human grocery stores.

Metal in your own possession will always have more intrinsic value than digits on a bankster's ledger.

Many 2nd layer tokens seem junk to me. I hope we will convert them to HIVE when they have some respectable value.

The second layer will take pressure off the 1st layer once we start really getting adopted.
Folks will move into the second layer because it will be cheaper.
It could go really quick, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

That's sad.

I have to admit. I find it hard to blog on HIVE. I always feel like I am dancing on pins and needles on the platform.

Thinking out loud might invoke the ire of whales or @spaminator.

Platforms need ways to protect against spam and plagiarism. History shows that any device designed to protect against abuse will be used to silence speech.

One of the things I dislike about transparent platforms like HIVE is that everything is so opaque.

Yes, mute lists totally don't make echo chambers.

Hive is what it is from the collective that launched it, if we don't like how it is going we have to get more hive power to change things.
That will be exponentially harder once we get discovered as defi with no fees by the wider crypto crowd.

Meh, I don't see the utility in it outside pay to play schemes.
Even were you to burn a token to get a nft it's still pay to play.

The thing about pay to play that makes it a poor management technique is that some of us get alcoholic dads that don't start us all off on the same footing as everybody else.
The fact that one person finds success easily doesn't mean that those that don't find 'success' as adroitly are somehow inherently inferior.

Now you could burn your token for all the token rewards the market will bear, but it's just that when you get into the governance token of this chain you won't want people buying their way into power.
Doing so will corrupt them.

They will think themselves as special and award themselves privileges.
Any paradigm where the concept of money, markets, and profits persist will always be the same problems we have right now just of varying degree.
