We should celebrate that Brittney Griner will soon have her first toke of freedom since February.

The part of the story that goes unmentioned is that many countries in the world have Draconian narcotic laws. These laws can sweep up unsuspecting tourists from the West.

I've always found it strange that many of the people I've known who associate with the term "communist" approve of drug use. Communist nations often have harsh anti-drug laws.

What we imagine things to be is often different from what they are.

We can thank the 'murican empire for drug laws, imo.
'Communist nations' have been mostly authoritarian in nature, it would be out of character for them to allow freedoms.
They have a prison industrial complex that needs fresh meat, too.
