Foundation Cards - Frontier Mode (de/eng)

Das Foundation Pack in Splinterlands wurde als Teil des neuen Campaign Mode eingeführt, um neuen Spielern einen Einstieg zu ermöglichen. Es enthält Karten aus dem sogenannten Foundations Set, das die früheren Starterkarten ersetzt.
Das Frontier Set enthält 18 Common Karten, 17 Rare Karten mit 5 Archons (früher Summoner), 11 Epic Karten und 7 Legendäre Karten.
Durch das Spielen der Kampange erhält man eine gute Basis an Karten, alle Archons und einen großen Teil der weiteren Karten.
Diese Karten sind für den Einsatz im Frontier Format vorgesehen, einem kostenlosen Spielmodus, der ausschließlich Foundations-Karten nutzt. Im Frontier Format können Spieler durch das Abschließen von täglichen Quests und das Erreichen bestimmter Rangstufen Belohnungen wie Karten, Packs und Frontier Entries verdienen.
Exemplarisch habe ich einmal ein Bild von den Silber Belohnungen beigefügt.

Sobald man den Gold Rang erreicht gibt es keine einzelnen Karten mehr sondern ein Pack. Mit 5 Karten, davon eine Rare garantiert. Allerdings enthalten die Packs nur Regular und Gold Foil Karten. Für alle anderen Karten braucht man Frontier Entries.
Diese Frontier Entries werden gesammelt und einmal wöchentlich werden seltene Karten verlost.

Obwohl die Karten aus dem Foundation Pack derzeit auf Sekundärmärkten wie Monstermarket gehandelt werden, gibt es mehrere Faktoren, die auf eine mögliche langfristige Wertminderung hindeuten:

Die kontinuierliche Ausgabe von Foundation Packs und die Möglichkeit, Karten durch das Spielen des Frontier Formats zu verdienen, führen zu einem stetigen Anstieg des Kartenangebots. Ein höheres Angebot bei gleichbleibender oder sinkender Nachfrage kann zu einem Preisverfall führen. Ein ganz klassischer Fall von Überangebot an Karten. Diesen Preisverfall kann man sehr gut beobachten. Teilweise werden einzelne Blocks von EPIC Karten für 0,01 USD angeboten.

Die Karten aus dem Foundations Set sind im Modern und Wild Format spielbar, jedoch nicht in allen Modi. Dies schränkt ihren Nutzen. Aufgrund der Tatsache, dass die Karten als Einstieg fungieren sollen sehe ich das aber unproblematisch. Ziel ist und bleibt es, neuen Spielern einen einfachen Start zu ermöglichen und nicht alles in den Schoß zu legen.
Im Gegenzug wurden die Brawls in den Gilden um die Foundation Karten erweitert.
Der erste Slot in jedem Brawl ist nur mit Foundation Karten spielbar.

Zusammenfassend lässt sich sagen, dass das Foundation Pack zwar einen aktuellen Wert besitzt, jedoch mehrere Faktoren darauf hindeuten, dass dieser Wert langfristig sinken könnte und es meiner Meinung nach auch tuen wird. Allerdings habe ich mich nicht besonders gut informiert inwiefern so etwas verhindert werden soll und eingegriffen wird.

Trotzdem bin ich persönlich sehr glücklich, dass der Foundation Modus gekommen ist.
Ich habe den Eindruck, dass viele Spieler genau deswegen nochmal zurückgekommen sind. Einige haben sich auch komplett auf diesen Modus umgestellt, quasi um nochmal neu anzufangen.
Und auch für mich ist wieder mehr Spielfreude aufgekommen.
Aktuell versuche ich regelmäßig meine 15 Siege zu erreichen um meine täglichen Belohnungen zu erhalten.
Natürlich verdiene ich damit kein SPS, aber dafür habe ich Spaß.

Und darum sollte es bei Splinterlands hauptsächlich gehen!

The Foundation Pack in Splinterlands was introduced as part of the new Campaign Mode to help new players get started. It contains cards from the Foundations Set, which replaces the previous starter cards.

As an example, I have included a picture of the silver rewards.

Once you reach Gold rank, you no longer receive individual cards, but rather a pack containing five cards, one of which is guaranteed to be rare. However, the packs only contain regular and gold foil cards. For all other cards, you need Frontier Entries.
These Frontier Entries are collected and once a week, rare cards are raffled off.

Although the cards from the Foundation Pack are currently being traded on secondary markets such as Monstermarket, there are several factors that point to a possible long-term decline in value:

The continuous release of Foundation Packs and the possibility of earning cards by playing the Frontier format are leading to a steady increase in the supply of cards. Higher supply with constant or declining demand can lead to a drop in prices. This is a classic case of oversupply of cards. This price decline can be observed very clearly. In some cases, individual blocks of EPIC cards are being offered for $0.01.

The cards from the Foundations set are playable in Modern and Wild formats, but not in all modes. This limits their usefulness. However, given that the cards are intended as an introduction, I don't see this as a problem. The goal is and remains to give new players an easy start and not to hand them everything on a silver platter.
In return, the brawls in the guilds have been expanded to include Foundation cards.
The first slot in each Brawl can only be played with Foundation cards.

In summary, it can be said that although the Foundation Pack has current value, several factors indicate that this value could decline in the long term, and in my opinion, it will. However, I am not particularly well informed about how this can be prevented and what measures will be taken.

Nevertheless, I am personally very happy that Foundation Mode has been introduced.
I have the impression that many players have come back precisely because of this. Some have even switched completely to this mode, essentially to start over again.
And I, too, have found myself enjoying the game more again.
Currently, I try to achieve my 15 wins regularly to receive my daily rewards.
Of course, I don't earn any SPS with this, but I have fun.

And that's what Splinterlands should be mainly about!
