My little walk through the Angostura viewpoint, Bolívar state (Eng - Esp)
Hello traveling friends, I hope you have a wonderful day. We're almost at the weekend and the start of the Easter holiday. A perfect time to visit church and some tourist destinations like rivers, beaches, and mountains with family and friends to relax, enjoy nature, and recharge. The little ones also have a short vacation from school activities, perfect for resting and visiting some places. This time, I'm sharing my brief visit to the Angostura viewpoint, also known as the Orinoco promenade, in Ciudad Bolívar, the capital of Bolívar State, the largest state in Venezuela by land area. This state also boasts great natural beauty and the presence of the Orinoco River, which covers a vast area and borders several states, such as Guárico and Monagas.
Ciudad Bolívar is a city whose origins date back to the colonial era and according to information from a resident it was one of the last missions founded by the Spanish due to the extensive vegetation of the area and the waters of the Orinoco River and other tributaries that prevented the passage of the conquerors, for many years it constituted the headquarters and refuge of the Liberator and the heroes who fought for independence, it has several buildings of colonial origin and the famous Angostura Congress was held there, where Simón Bolívar gave his famous speech that promoted the creation of Gran Colombia and the constitution with the executive, legislative and judicial powers, it is a very interesting city for its history and cultural wealth.
Hola amigos viajeros, espero que tengan un excelente día, ya estamos muy cerca del fin de semana e inicio del asueto de semana Santa; un tiempo propicio para visitar la iglesia y algunos destinos turísticos como ríos, playas y montañas en compañía de familiares y amigos para relajarse, disfrutar el contacto con la naturaleza y recargar energía, los pequeños de la casa también tienen una pequeña temporada de vacaciones de las actividades escolares, ideal para descansar y visitar algunos lugares, en esta ocasión comparto mi pequeña visita al mirador Angostura, conocido también paseo Orinoco, en Ciudad Bolívar, que es la capital del estado Bolívar, el cual es el más grande de Venezuela por su extensión territorial, este estado posee además grandes bellezas naturales y la presencia del río Orinoco que cubre una vasta zona y sirve de límite con varios estados, como Guárico y Monagas.
Ciudad Bolívar es una ciudad cuyos orígenes se remontan a la época colonial y de acuerdo a la información de un residente fue una de las últimas misiones fundadas por los españoles debido a la extensa vegetación de la zona y las aguas del río Orinoco y otros afluentes que impedían el paso de los conquistadores, durante muchos años constituyó el cuartel y refugio del Libertador y los próceres que luchaban por la independencia, cuenta con varias construcciones de origen colonial y en ella se llevó a cabo el famoso congreso de Angostura, donde Simón Bolívar dio su célebre discurso que promovió la creación de la Gran Colombia y la constitución con los poderes ejecutivos legislativo y judicial, es una ciudad muy interesante por su historia y riqueza cultural.
Last year during my trip to this beautiful state, I had the opportunity to visit several cities including Puerto Ordaz where I stayed for several days, during the journey I took several photos of the landscape, the day was clear and beautiful, after crossing the Orinoquia Bridge the second bridge over the Orinoco and running some errands in Puerto Ordaz we headed to Ciudad Bolívar to continue with the errands, due to time it was impossible to visit the Angostura viewpoint, but thank God, this year, on a short trip to the beautiful state of Bolívar, I took the opportunity to visit the Angostura viewpoint, my errands in this state had to do with some paperwork and visiting a friend from college, whom I had not seen for a while.
He was back in his home state and after communicating we set a date for the visit, to share and walk around the city, when I arrived at the walk, I was surprised by how dry the river and the plants are, normally this area is characterized by being very green due to the presence of the river, but this year the drought has been very marked and the incidence of the sun's rays intense, the viewpoint is a beautiful walkway with blue and red railings, the floor is granite and on both sides there are several trees, there are concrete benches, an information booth and security; the walkway also has lamps, the floor has diamond patterns and you can see how dry the trees are, the leaves are already brown and very few keep their green color, from this point of the walkway you can also see some buildings and the long path that allows you to appreciate the immense Orinoco River, we continue moving forward to observe the Angostura Bridge (the first bridge built on the Orinoco River), by mistake I deleted this photo from my phone.
El año pasado durante mi viaje a este hermoso estado, tuve la oportunidad de varias ciudades entre ellas la ciudad de Puerto Ordaz en la cual permanecí por varios días, durante el trayecto tomé varias fotos del paisaje, el día estaba despejado y hermoso, luego de pasar por el puente Orinoquia el segundo puente sobre el Orinoco y hacer algunas diligencias en Puerto Ordaz nos dirigimos hasta Ciudad Bolívar para continuar con las diligencias, por motivo de tiempo fue imposible visitar el mirador Angostura, pero gracias a Dios, este año, en un viaje breve al hermoso estado Bolívar, aproveché la oportunidad para visitar el mirador Angostura, mis diligencias en este estado tenían que ver con algunos algunos trámites y visitar a una amiga de la universidad, la cual tenía tiempo sin ver.
Estaba de vuelta en su estado natal y luego de comunicarnos fijamos la fecha de la visita, para compartir y pasear por la ciudad, al llegar al paseo, me sorprendió lo seco que está el río y las plantas, regularmente esta zona se caracteriza por ser muy verde debido a la presencia del río, pero este año la sequía ha estado muy marcada y la incidencia de los rayos del sol intensa, el mirador es una hermosa caminería con barandas en color azul y rojo el piso es de granito y a ambos lados se encuentran varios árboles, hay bancos de concreto, casilla de información y vigilancia; la caminería cuenta también lámparas, el piso tiene patrones de rombos y se observa lo seco que están los árboles, las hojas ya son de color marrón y muy pocos mantienen su color verde, desde este punto de la caminería se observan también algunos edificios y el largo sendero que permite apreciar el inmenso río Orinoco, seguimos avanzando para observar el puente Angostura (el primer puente construido en el río Orinoco), por error borré esta foto del teléfono.

We also had very little water to hydrate ourselves and had to continue on another errand. For about an hour, we walked along the path, looking at the landscape, and I wondered why the river and the vegetation were so dry. In fact, at the bottom of the mountain, you can see some houses and buildings that are difficult to see during the regular season when the river's water level rises.
The state of Bolívar, and specifically Ciudad Bolívar, as I mentioned before, has beautiful destinations full of history, natural beauty, and the presence of the majestic Orinoco River. This state is known for its numerous rivers and tributaries that flood much of its territory. It was a nice experience to visit the viewpoint again and talk with my friend after several years. It was a very pleasant conversation, where we reminisced about our university days, and she also got to meet my son.
En compañía de mi amiga y mi hijo hicimos un breve recorrido debido al que el sol estaba muy intenso y no llevamos sombrilla, también teníamos muy poca agua para hidratarnos y debíamos continuar con otra diligencia, durante aproximadamente una hora caminamos por el paseo vimos el paisaje y me preguntaba ¿por qué estaba tan seco el río y la vegetación? de hecho al fondo de la montaña se observan algunas casas y construcciones que es difícil verlas en la temporada regular cuando el río aumenta su nivel de agua.
El estado Bolívar y específicamente ciudad Bolívar, como lo mencioné anteriormente tiene hermosos destinos llenos de historia, belleza natural y la presencia del majestuoso Orinoco, este estado destaca por sus numerosos ríos y afluentes que inundan gran parte de su territorio, fue una linda experiencia visitar nuevamente el mirador y conversar con mi amiga después de varios años, fue una charla muy amena, donde recordamos nuestros tiempos de la universidad y también ella pudo conocer a mi hijo.
