A Difficult Start: A Reflection on Theology Class

Starting this reflection was hard for me, to be honest. I didn't know how to come up with how I write the introduction, so I just typed what was flowing in my mind. In my expectation of the class, I expect that it would be difficult, based on what I heard from the upper year students. Because of the shock of reading requirements. And I experienced that. But it didn't matter.

In the topic we have in Nature and Scriptures, I learned first the supernatural revelation of God through Scripture and the revelation of God through nature. I learned the unique aspect of these, that they are complementary to each other. The natural revelation of God serves its purpose to portray God's authority and power throughout creation. Portraying the results of man's disobedience. Also, in the supernatural, which shows the need of humanity for God through Jesus Christ.

Second, I discovered throughout our study of the Religious Foundation of Theology that religion is the manifestation of man's connection with God, which is characterized by dedication to and submission to His will. I find the Reformed perspective particularly noteworthy because it emphasizes the Trinity, the idea of original sin, and the fact that Jesus Christ is the only path to God. Moreover, religion is not limited to one aspect of human life but encompasses the whole person—intellect, will, and emotions. The final section's emphasis on how religion's foundation and core can only have significance through God's revelation intrigued me as well.
