Geopolitical meme-perspectives

I've been putting off making a meme about the current situation because how shocking it was for most people living in Eastern Europe to hear on the news that shit actually hit the fan and the vodka loving idiot made good on his promise to put millions of lives in danger. But reddit has been full of memes on this topic for days so it's not like the situation hasn't sunk in already.

I also tried my best to come up with something original and not just do the classical: "Ukraine? no, Mykraine" meme which was funny in 2014 but has lost it's dankness long ago.

When this whole shit show started there was a feeling of disappointment among people who live in countries close to Ukraine because the western sanctions seemed anemic at best, although things have gotten more serious for Putin and his cronies in the past few days with more hard hitting sanctions, it doesn't feel like the West is willing to go all the way in order to punish such monsters. And by that I mean the EU is still importing gas from Russia and they are dragging their heels about excluding them from the Swift system. Not sure if those measures will be enough but at least it will show that the rest of Europe are not some yellow belly pushovers.

Fortunately I live in a country that is a NATO member and I don't have to spend my time in a basement pooping in a bucket or getting drafted in the military, for now at least. What concerns me for the time being is another nuclear disaster because Ukraine has a lot of nuclear power plants and we have all seen how trigger happy the Russians are. Or God forbid the idiot in the Kremlin using nukes intentionally.

This is shaping up to be quite a crappy decade I dare to say, but I guess when it rains it pours like the old saying goes.
