Memes, GIFs, Stickers, and the Online World

There was a time when the Internet and social media weren't there. We're all familiar with the traditional ways people used to communicate and even pass messages in previous eras. Then came technology to the rescue. But it didn't just rise to this point we're in today. Messages had to be sent through mail which took a long time to go through and then be received. Today, we can send messages faster, better and easier.

Well, not just to send messages, we can have interactions as well today, and it's not just faster, better and easier, but also more interesting. And that's where memes, stickers and GIFs come into play. These minor innovations and elements have revolutionised the Internet, and social media interactions in ways we probably couldn't have imagined. It has made the online world more interactive, interesting, and engaging.

There was a time when these were not available, and it wasn't like conversations were completely boring and uninteresting. It was enough for us then to use words and create the messages we wanted. Emojis came in and helped elevate it. But the introduction of stickers, GIFs and memes was a game-changer. Not only did they allow one to say and express more with less effort, but they also made interactions more appealing and versatile.

I must say that these have helped to ease tensions in some situations. One might be having a rough day or going through a rough time, and one meme out there changes their mood entirely and lightens them up. It tends to even lighten up an online atmosphere. While I have my reservations with the overwhelming demand and desire for fun and entertainment today, I can't deny how these elements are making it more lively online.

Oftentimes in a chat, I run to one sticker or GIF. For me, it easily communicates what I intend in an easier and simpler way. It eases the pressure sometimes of trying to draft a message in words, in the best way possible to avoid some misconceptions, because with stickers or GIFs, it's understood to be hilarious and less serious. As one who often uses stickers and GIFs, I tend to wonder sometimes how interactions on social media would be without them.

Memes are an interesting part of this discourse. This involves images or reels, sometimes with words put together to create humour and hilarious messages. You tend to wonder how people come up with the ideas for these memes, because they're apt and relatable in many cases. Just coming across them can turn a bad and sad mood into the opposite. Well, some people have made it a duty to always share them on their statuses, stories and posts on their socials.

It's really interesting to have these elements in social media and the internet at large. Thankfully, we have memes and GIFs on Hive too, which have made our interactions better. At this point, I'll say that social media shouldn't exist without memes, stickers or GIFs. These have changed interactions in the online world and made it more. We enjoy them and have become used to them. Their absence would make things boring or less interesting online.
