Sex Crimes and Child Protection
Is it a coincidence that this second prompt of the week also revolves around the issue of crime, though in a specified sense in this case? Something evident, even as I wrote on the previous prompt was that people will always engage in crimes, for one reason or another. That's true. However, I find myself trying hard to fathom why people engage in some sort of crime, like that which I'll be discussing in this post.
Sex crime, as the name implies refers to crimes that stem from sexual cases and abuses. When a person sexually assaults another, it's a case of sex crime. Now, that's not even the main point here. Though this is already a disturbing and repulsive act, what makes it more disturbing is when it's committed against children, which is child sexual abuse or in the intellectual term, paedophilia. And anyone who engages in such a crime is known as a paedophile.

Seriously, I try to understand why a grown person would be interested in having sexual interactions with a minor or a child. What makes it an interesting and pleasant endeavour is what I can't fathom. A child who's supposed to be protected by an adult ends up being sexually abused by them. A child entrusted in such a person's care ends up losing their trust in them because of this. The truth is, many children have experienced this; girl or boy.
No paedophile or child molester should be allowed to go without being strongly convicted, whoever they may be. It's one crime that shouldn't be taken lightly. The result of such a crime has gone on to affect victims in many ways; with many living in fear and growing up with that fear, many have entered into the sex business because of this experience, many have lost self worth by the reason of this crime against them. They deserve every sense of justice.
The question is on the part of the perpetrators of this act; be it man or woman, how should they be treated if they're convicted of this crime, have served their sentence and are said to be changed, perhaps visible enough. Should they be allowed close to their children? Or even any child at all? It's a hard call to make, considering this is a grave crime, which many other crimes are. But this, it leaves it hard to just grant that privilege.
If they should be allowed close to their children, let that be at the discretion of the other parent or guardian, and the child as well. This also should be under strict supervision. But they shouldn't probably even be allowed close to them or other children immediately after being released. They should be under strict watch and surveillance before even thinking of granting that privilege of getting access and close to their child or children.
When it comes to children in general, they should be regulated in movement and they should have little to nothing to do with children, especially when they just got released. This is not just for the child, but for the person convicted of that crime, who might still be struggling with that desire. Things like that are not easy to get over. While it's possible to have people convicted of such a crime who have changed, caution and care should be taken.

Excellent article that leads us to reflect on a global phenomenon that must disappear.
Thank you. It's indeed an issue that needs to disappear.

Yes! its only a psychopath that can not see what is wrong in having sex with a minor. Its sickening.
Sexually abuse is too rampant because of how times have changed with internet and medias. The society needs to consider this an urgent attention.
You've said well. This issue needs to be dealt with urgent attention.
