Wildlife Domestication?

Somehow, humans and animals; though of different species of beings, are in a way fond of each other. It's the reason we see animals and get captivated by their beauty, character or whatever quality that attracts us to them. It seems there's that connection we share with them that brings about this relationship. Over time, humans have inhabited spaces together with animals. Such animals could be pets or livestock.

Almost every house, especially in this part of the world has one or more animals. They live and share the house with the humans. Such animals are mainly as we know dogs and cats, to livestock and even what some consider as emotional companions. For some of these animals, it takes effort and a level of training to get them to become the intended nature of animals that the owners desired.

Well, it's normal to find all of that. At least we were taught and we understand what domestic animals are; which informs us that such animals are harmless, making the domestication of them a thing, and a benefit to us as well in many cases. How about we tilt things altogether, and say that wild animals for some reason could be domesticated. What would that look like? Would that be an option for me?

While there's a seemingly appealing consideration that this could be a “nice” call for the sake of providing more and proper care for these sorts of animals, which some are probably facing some attacks, possibly leading to an extinction level, it's still never the right call for me. I've engaged in this conversation before and my resolve still remains as then when I had such conversations; which is a resounding no.

This is something I could consider as using one's resources or means to buy or invite danger to themself. It's looking at the immediate “good” (if there really is) without a proper consideration of the futuristic effect. This isn't a stereotype, but a wild animal will always have a wild animal's instinct. You can't tame such a nature. It can only be subdued, and this for a period of time before it returns to its original instinct. And that's something I see as gravely dangerous.

There have been stories of people who decided to domesticate wild animals, and I guess we know how the stories ended. It might be going well for some, but I would also like to look at the potential effect on others who are not the owners or who are not in any way close to the owners that these animals have gotten used to. Having such animals would leave people terrified, and it's only a matter of time before their fears are proven right.

How about we consider their feeding too? Just to put a stop there though. With all these, I wish to consider that the best would be to leave the wild animals to remain in their wild world. There are different breeds of dogs and other animals to have an experience in the event that they seem boring. Why bring such presumable danger upon ourselves and others? Let those experienced in handling these animals do their work in the structures meant for that. Those in the forest can remain there.
