This is what happens when impressions are bought and are not of inorganic source

Oh okay. Then probably, they are mostly bots.

It's just a lot of people saw/engaged with the tweet but didn't want to follow me as a result.

@temileke has it right in that it takes repeated impressions to the same people to make a follower. But at the same time, I believe Twitter is an attention pyramid scheme, where everyone but the very top accounts will always get a tiny amount of attention and followers.

At times impressions does amount to new followers like that because when calculating what made impression, it takes less in account what will make new followers. But I strongly believe as time goes on and if the impression keeps consistent and keep growing, more new followers will be popping up

That is likely true. Yet for me, in over 9 years on Twitter, with seemingly good levels of impressions, I have obtained a mere 210 followers. On Hive I have managed nearly 6000, but few of those are in recent months/years.

Yes you are right. I guess one edge the Twitter is still have is it is still able to reach larger audience all over the world when compared to hive right now.

But trust me, hive is coming to that stage also whereby your hive post and article one posted daily will be able to reach millions of audience because of the millions of account that will be active on hive
