10,000 steps and one death

Hello friends,

my neighbor Detlef has died. He lived 2 doors down also on the first floor. I did not even know that he was in the hospital since Sunday night, let alone that he died there last night na heart problems and water in the lungs. It wasn't until his apartment was cleared out and his crappy Porsche was picked up that I asked and got the news.
What happens now, if he is buried and where and at all, actually nobody is interested. He is gone and that's it.
This non-commitment in life as an expat or permanent traveler also has its less beautiful side, you are pretty much no one cares. Not because people are so selfish, but because you live a solo life and want to live.
Happy is the one who has an anchor somewhere and maintains it, be it family, be it friends. Otherwise you are really
blown away by the wind.

Hallo Freunde,

mein Nachbar Detlef ist gestorben. Er wohnte 2 Türen weiter auch im Erdgeschoss. Ich wusste nicht mal, dass er seit Sonntagnacht im Krankenhaus war, geschweige denn, dass er gestern Nacht dort na Herzproblemen und Wasser in der Lunge verstarb. Erst als sein Apartment ausgeräumt wurde und sein schrottiger Porsche abgeholt wurde, habe ich gefragt und die Nachricht bekommen.
Was jetzt passiert , ob er beerdigt wird und wo und überhaupt, eigentlich interessiert es niemanden. Er ist weg und das wars.
Diese Unverbindlichkeit in Leben als Expat oder Dauerreisender hat auch ihre weniger schöne Seite, man ist so ziemlich jedem egal. Nicht weil die Leute so egoistisch sind, sondern weil man ja ein Sololeben lebt und leben will.
Glücklich ist, wer einen Anker irgendwo hat und diesen auch pflegt. sei es Familie, seien es Freunde. Sonst ist man wirklich
vom Winde verweht.
