Creating on Ecency should feel effortless. This release sharpens the editor and adds some genuinely fun new tools.
A built-in meme maker
DecentMemes is now built right into Ecency. Make a meme inside the app and publish it straight to your blog or to Waves. No other tools, no leaving the page. Memes are one of the easiest ways to join a conversation, and now they are one click away. We thank DecentMemes team for building such a fun, awesome and rewarding tool.
A smoother editor
Pasted images now upload reliably with a proper filename, so dragging or pasting a screenshot just works.
The publish bar leads with a community selector, so you pick where you are posting first.
Publish mode is clearer, with a single, aligned header instead of scattered labels.
A rebuilt location picker
Want to tag a post with a place? The location picker is rebuilt on an open source map with faster hybrid search, so finding the right spot is quick and accurate.
Cleaner mobile composing
On mobile, the floating action button and the scroll-to-top control now hide cleanly together with the navbar. No more half-cut buttons getting in your way.
For builders and AI tools
Every post on Ecency is now available in machine-readable formats. Add .md, .json, or .discussion.json to any post URL, and there is an llms.txt for AI tools too. This makes Ecency content far easier to share, archive, and build on. The plain-markdown version is dramatically lighter than a full web page, which is great for integrations.

I just tried it on a wave, and it turns out to be a very simple and convenient tool to use, it looks good and I liked the result.
The location picker isn't linked to WorldMappin?
It is, worldmappin formatted geo tag is added into content. Previously we were showing Google map to search and locate but apparently it wasn’t working properly so we shifted to opensource solution.
