yeah i would like to know that backstory as well. There was some talk about how the current King of Thailand really loves dogs and treats them better than most of his human servents. There apparently is a video out there of lavish birthday parties for one of his dogs that was part of the reason why YouTube was briefly banned in Thailand.
I feel like there are some seriously pampered dogs out there, even people who aren't vastly wealthy treat their dogs like royalty. I can only imagine how wild the king's dog party was that they felt they needed to ban YouTube. Banning something for such a silly reason seems like it would only invite more interest in people watching it.
Well I wasn't entirely honest in my portrayal of why the video that YouTube refused to take down and therefore resulted in the nation blocking the site altogether: The King (who was the son of the King at the time) was scantily clad as was his wife and mistress in the video and they were all acting like fools. They were also seriously mistreating the help in the video
I think I remember that video coming out years ago. Makes the situation less funny and lighthearted once you get the full picture.
