TOFU GEJROT SPECIAL FOOD CIREBON CITY

avatar

Today I will post food from the city of Cirebon, West Java. Cirebon has the nickname of the city of Gunung Jati. Said Gunung Jati that so to avoid getting my opinion wrong about Cirebon, it's better for me to just tell you what I know for those who have history of Cirebon for Hiver Indonesia it's better to tell it so we can know more about Cirebon as a whole

Cirebon has a special food, namely TOFU GEJROT which is very cheap and without medication at all. The main ingredients are TOFU, CHILI, ONION AND GARLIC.

Even the presentation tools are made of clay. The presentation tool is called COBEK or LAYAH. Elsewhere, LAYAH is used to make sambal.

This afternoon I deliberately ordered one GEJROT TOFU. One portion of GEJROT TOFU costs IDR 5000 or ⅓ dolar, very cheap right?

I like this food because besides being cheap, this food is perfect for driving away sleepiness at work and delaying my hungry stomach 😀.

The trader's father is a good friend of mine, what he asked me for sure was "how many chilies do you want?" because I'm not too strong eating spicy food, so I only dared to ask for two chilies to mix.

The tutorial for making TOHU GEJROT is very easy. The important thing is that we first prepare the ingredients such as;

TOFU EMPTY, you can buy it at the market or at the local tofu shop.

Green chili

Onion and garlic

Salt

Brown Sugar or Java Sugar

Before we make GEJROT TOFU, the first thing we do is melt the brown sugar by boiling it in water. And after the cooled sugar boils put it in a bottle.

We will continue how to make GEJROT TOFU, maybe even small children can because making GEJROT TOFU is no different from making chili sauce. For more details, I will describe one by one.

First, we have to make the sambal first by pounding it finely in a different place, for the spiciness we can adjust it to our taste.

And after grinding TOFU, which is the basic ingredient, we cut it into pieces with scissors elsewhere. After the tofu is cut into small pieces, then we pour the chili sauce over the tofu, some may ask what is the meaning of the sugar cooking water?

Boiled brown sugar water is intended to sweeten TOFU GEJROT, but if we prefer a spicy and savory taste of boiled sugar water, we don't need to pour it.

What do you think, easy right? I'm sure you can make it. In closing, good luck and thank you, hopefully it's useful.
