The era that began in 1945 (end of World War II) ended in 2019 (I'd say on 15 April 2019 when Notre-Dame de Paris burnt). Afterwards big global changes followed at short intervals: Covid-19, Ukraine War, supply chain issues, energy scarcity, inflationary waves (and higher interest rates), AI breakthrough, the war against Jews/Israel since Oct. 7th 2023, Trump 2.0 and his tariffs / protectionism.

The Cold War ended in 1991. I'd say (as mentioned by Niall Ferguson) that we have Cold War 2 right now, against China and Russia.
