It's been a while, but here are some memes

I used to do this every coupla weeks then it was once a month, now I don't have any idea how long it has been.

Anyhoo, about 7 years ago I ditched traditional popular social media because it was an exceptional waste of time. Doom-scrolling is the norm and a ton of the content is fake. Plus almost everyone argues with strangers or worse, friends, about politics as if their opinion mattered and was going to change anything.

Every now and then I will pop on FB just to see if it is still that way and well, yeah, it is. Conservatives bitching about liberals and liberals bitching about conservatives. Everyone is in exactly the same place they were 7 years ago.. .it is the digital world's trench warfare and I don't know why anyone still bothers with it.

I get on 9gag when I have downtime now and look at memes. here are the ones I found funny or hit me in the feels. Enjoy.

If you have a dog you don't need an explanation. One day I was wondering what Nadi was chewing on and when I finally pried her mouth open it turns out she was chewing on one of her own rotten teeth that had just fallen out. Gross I know, but she is 12 and losing teeth is just part of the process.

I think we would all be a bit better off if we lived our lives like dogs do. My dog is perpetually excited about anything. This includes performing tasks that I know she doesn't like such as taking a bath. She complies and gets excited towards the end because she knows the treats are coming.

Today's been pretty dog-centric but the 9gag algorithm has me figured out. They know if it is about dogs, I am likely to enjoy it and they are correct.

one of the main reasons why I don't participate in online discussion of any sort really is because it almost always spirals into some sort of toxic argument. It is nice to see, every now and the, when people are genuinely helpful, even if they are a bit late with the info.

There are certain friends of mine who's alcoholism really gets on my nerves even though it doesn't affect my life directly. There are several people I know that say "let's go have a beer" or "I wanna go have a nightcap." This always means getting shitfaced with these people and I have gotten to the point where I never even join them on these adventures. Do they have a good time? Well I hope so. But there is a reason why none of us see them at all for several days afterwards.

For some reason, 9gag enjoys picking on the complexity of the German language and one of my best friends here is my German friend, Sven. Whenever I find one of these I bring it to him to confirm if it is legit or not and this one is. That long as hell word simply means "Paratroopers" or the German equivalent of Airborne Rangers.

I talk about craft beers every now and then because they aren't really my thing. This sort of meme was born out of poking fun at Americans as many memes do but I have to say that I missed all of this hipster stuff by leaving the USA in the early 2000's. IF this is really what has become of those sort of places, I'm glad I missed it.

We started with dogs and that is where we will end as well. I probably bark on too much about how I am worried about my one true Rock, Nadi, and how she is getting old. It encompasses a great deal of my thought time. If she does make it to another year's birthday, I am going to get a dog-friendly cake like this for her and her 2 dog friends to enjoy.
