Monthly meme dump
A bit over 5 years ago I got frustrated with traditional social media like Facebook and Instagram because mostly due to politics and opinions over Covid, I started to see more and more people getting into massive arguments over trivial things and witnessed people saying the most awful things to people that I know they have been friends with for a very long period of time in a public forum. In the worst situations I started seeing people turning on their own family members in a public forum, which is just awful.
I also realized that I was completely wasting all my time by participating in it even though I rarely commented or posted anything at all.
I deleted my IG and while I kept my FB for messenger purposes, I haven't posted anything or even looked at it in years unless I am looking for a local event or some map information. I feel as though my life is a lot better not having wasted that time and getting involved in arguments with strangers.
Nowadays, whenever I have some dead time in a line or just sitting somewhere, I head over to 9GAG to check out memes. People still try to force political propaganda on the masses there as well because the internet is dead and most of the "people" are bots but since the community over there has rules as far as tags are concerned and identifies and blocks bots, you can get a clean feed with a little bit of "work."
Anyway, these are the ones that I saw that I either found meaningful, insightful, or touching. Perhaps you will feel the same.

If you read my stuff at all, you likely already know that bowling is quite important to me. In our group chat we only allow bowling related material in there, this barely qualified.

I was talking to one of the people in our bowling group about how strangers on the internet are excessively mean to other people in a way that they would not be in a face-to-face setup.
The angry looks on the faces of the people in the crowd got a chuckle out of me because no matter where you go, here included, there are a ton of trolls and people who just seem to be dead set on making other people as miserable as possible. Our local FB help groups are a prime example of this. Some one can come in there asking a perfectly legitimate question such as restaurant recommendations and some jackaloon is going to say something awful like "why don't you go back to your own country and eat there, asshole!" or something along those lines. Be nicer!

I know that it is cliche to even say it anymore but I am one of those people that likes dogs more than people. If I go to a place and there is a cute and well-behaved dog there, this is who I am going to spend my time with. The party could be filled with very attractive women but I'm always going to gravitate towards the dog.

This is not a meme and for many in the 9gag community posting something like this is frowned upon but since I don't have Twitter/ X I wouldn't see this information otherwise. Plus I had just done exactly what it says at least once in the past week. Every time one of the cleaning ladies is mopping I will do this stupid tippy-toe walk on the floor as if I was saving them work by doing so. I no longer do that because it accomplishes nothing.

While I do not play videogames all that often this made me laugh. It's funny because he's fat and apparently the very mild-mannered creator of Steam is as well.

In 9gag, there is always a lot of men=good, women=bad posts that take place. I have always found a lot of them to be really stupid because people of both genders are selfish idiots, it is not specific to one or the other... well unless you think TikTok is a reflection of real life. My Mom appreciated this one anyway.

One of my friend's wives is a huge fan of the Peanuts and I had never noticed this before but it is kind of morbid and funny at the same time. I miss Snoopy, I may have to watch the Christmas special this year again.

Another thing that people do on 9gag as well as everywhere else online is bitch about how tough life is. This meme is the view of things through the eyes of a dog. My own dog just turned 12 yesterday and I constantly talk about how content she is with life even though for a human her day-to-day might seem a bit mundane since exciting things don't happen that often. Or at least it would appear to us humans. I don't think that most dogs actually need or even want new and exciting things to happen. They just want to be around YOU. In that regard I appreciate dogs even more.

I'll wrap these up as I normally do, with a picture of Nadi. That is not Nadi in the picture, but it is close. Since it was her 12th birthday party yesterday, it seemed appropriate.
If you have any memes to share back, please do so!
People are pretty horrible these days. It's like they go out of their way to leave the snarkiest meanest comment they can just for the sake of doing it. They waste more energy than if they just moved on and left it be.
