Watching the Growth of Water Apples in the Yard

This morning, I took the time to walk around my yard and discovered the fascinating sight of water apple fruit starting to grow and enlarge among the dense leaves. They were still light green with a slight pink tinge on the underside, indicating that the ripening process was underway. In a few weeks, these guavas would likely turn pink or bright red, ready to be picked and enjoyed.
I always enjoy watching this process of fruit growth. From the small flowers blooming, then falling off and being replaced by ovaries, until they gradually enlarge and change color. It all happens naturally, requiring only patience, attention, and a little care, such as regular watering and pruning overgrown leaves.
This water apple plant has already fruited several times, and each time it does, it brings a special sense of satisfaction. The taste is not only refreshing, but also sweet with a slight crunch when bitten. I usually enjoy the fruit straight from the tree, or sometimes make a salad with friends and family in the afternoon.
Watching these young fruits grow reminds me of the importance of patience in planting and caring for something. Nature has its own timing to produce the best results, and our job is simply to maintain its balance. Hopefully, in the next few weeks, these water apples will ripen perfectly and yield a bountiful harvest. 🍈
