Found My Way with a Compass Rose Scottish Export Ale

Let's see what we can learn from a simple beer can this week.

First of all this fine brew is a Scottish Export Ale. And we know that this is Scottish because it screams SCOTLAND on the can.

First thing to notice is the sword which is clearly a CLAYMORE, the great battle sword of the Highlands. Secondly, behind the claymore, is the blue and white Saltire, that's what they call banner of Scotland in heraldic form.

And no that is not the LETTER "X" but rather the Cross of Saint Andrew, who happens to be the patron Saint of Scotland.

Not yet, as there is so much more to learn from this can of beer!

In cartography, the art of map making, the symbol that shows the directions, an example of which is at the top of the can is called . . . . . . . . .

TASTE: mellow malts with a slight hint of fruit
MOUTHFEEL: on the low side of medium, light carbonation clean finish
