Trimming the Tree on #BEERSATURDAY

So I thought I was being very helpful this year by adding a nice touch to the Christmas tree with what I believed was a beautiful new Christmas ornament.

I had tried to find just the right place to add a little class to the old Christmas tree.

It was a little heavy so I figured I needed to lighten the load.

On this fine Yule Time #beersaturday I am enjoying a Hochland Helles brewed by Appalachian Mountain Brewery, called AMB for short, in Boone, North Carolina. Boone is located in the High Country of North Carolina.

Fun Facts: The founder's of AMB are of German descent and decided to brew this Helles as a specialty beer in tribute to their forefathers. "Hochland" in German translates in English to
"High Country". At least that is what is printed on the label.

Well teach since you asked, Yes I DO! In fact I think that if we replaced textbooks with beer cans our youth would be far more interested in learning. But that is just my opinion.

Enough of this High Country higher education for now is the time for drinking beer.

BEER NAME: Hochland Helles
STYLE: Lager
ABV: 5%
BREWER: Appalachian Mountain Brewery in Boone, North Carolina
APPEARANCE: straw gold, pours with a foamy medium head, very clear
AROMA: mild hops and malts
TASTE: mild hops slightly sweet malts and just a tinge of bitterness
MOUTHFEEL: creamy, lightly carbonates with a clean finish
HANGOVER FACTOR: drink away me boys!

After finding the perfect place to hang our new Christmas ornament in the tree, Mrs. @handofzara informed me, in no uncertain terms mind you, that SHE did not want a "dang beer can" hanging on HER Christmas tree.

Can you believe that!

All of a sudden it is HER Christmas tree and not OUR Christmas tree. So once again, me and the beer were exiled to the man cave to contemplate why a "dang beer can" is not the perfect Christmas ornament.
