Wishful Thinking of Sun Grown
Is it just wishful thinking, to think of things Sun Grown at the end of February?
This is the question that plagues the mind of @handofzara on this #beersaturday.
See, I have but two hobbies in this world, drinking beer (not really a hobby but more of a profession as I do get paid on #HIVE for these posts) and . . . . gardening.
So as Winter fades and hope Springs eternal, my mind naturally turns to the garden.
Settle down Mr. Little Cat a Big Old Cat is typing away. The days are getting warmer and the nights a little shorter so of course my mind wonders to my only wholesome hobby.
Are any of you feeling the need for longer days and shorter nights?
The Mrs. @handofzara and I have been hitting the hiking trails every weekend as of late. (Technically hiking is "our" hobby and not "my" hobby, as it is the thing we do together).
FUN FACT: The mountainside is the only place on God's Green Earth that the Mrs. @handofzara is forbidden to send me to the man cave! It is a clause in our contract of marriage.
She is, however, permitted to push me off the mountainside, which is why I let her lead. :)
The trees are still bare and the mountainside is still chilly but as the heat of the Sun returns, and soon the dry brown countryside will once again blossom.
Yea, the pollen in the Springtime is annoying however that too is a sign that the seasons are changing. And with each change of season comes a new rhythm in life. So sneeze away, for to my ears it is a sign that Spring is upon us!
Perhaps all of these rattlings in my brain led me to select a beer called "Sun Grown" as I could use a little more Sun grown after this Cold and Dark Winter.
BEER NAME: Sun Grown
STYLE: American Lager
ABV: 4.8%
BREWER: Sycamore Brewing of Charlotte, North Carolina
APPEARANCE: pale straw gold, clear and pours with a medium head
AROMA: light malts and a faint hint of citrus
TASTE: mild hops, sweet and a hint of citrus lemon/lime?
MOUTHFEEL: light bodied, soft carbonation with a crisp refreshing finish
Okay, this is more of a Summer brew but then again my mind is thinking of all things Sun Grown on a cold Winter's Night.
TRIVIA TIME
I have a #beersaturday tradition of asking a trivia question. The first person to answer correctly in the COMMENTS wins a BEER TOKEN!
Question: The first day of Winter is called the "Winter Solstice"; what is the first day of Spring called?
Good luck and I will see y'all next #beersaturday.

It's first time I come across this beer. Sun grown I would try !
I am liking the theme of summery beers people are coming up with! This one as well.
Truth be told, the winter has been very mind and moderate compared to past years so I can't complain about it lingering. Still looking forward to lawnmower and sports beers of the summer!
Good to have some sun grown in the middle of Feb
That looks mighty cold here have a Summer !BEER
