RE: MEME: Leftist vision #1

I think I'm gonna have to agree with @aussieninja here, @dwinblood, for perhaps the first and perhaps the last time in my life.

At this point in human history, I think @dwinblood and I are just about in the same boat. I'm seeing "modern leftism" as a serious blight, and so I'm not here to say that @dwinblood is necessarily wrong about the facts themselves.

But I think that increased factionalism is part of the issue that modern society is having. I think altruism without function is as bad as the naming of enemies based on a singular grouping.

I really have to admit that normally, I do tend to agree and enjoy @dwinblood's writing, but I fear that logic and truth are not present at the moment. Facts and emotions are present, but logic and truth, by necessity, supersede those things, and that is what bothers me.

I too, have this gift: "That has gifted me with kind of a mental immune system when people are trying to manipulate me." -Dwinblood

And I know you are not trying to manipulate, as some sort of wickedly devised social control strategy, but that is what this post is doing. Your honest thoughts are at least honest, but I think that they could be improved and crafted to be more benevolent.

Benevolence is not altruism. There are scales of love, and I think it starts at the weakest, most pathetic point: Pity. That extends to being merely nice. Then towards kindness. Then to altruism. And then to benevolence. These are stages of complexity. Benevolence is the step before universal love, but universal love is in the realm of gods.

(For the record, I also believe that there are functional stages of hatred, and how to use negative emotions for the betterment of life, and also, to the detriment of it.)

For us mortals with our limited perspectives, we must understand that benevolence is the mindset of a parent: We must appreciate, we must understand, we must care, and sometimes, we must discipline.

And thus I do not encourage you to turn a blind eye towards the world, factions in the world, and in particular, leftists, who I believe are indeed in the grips of what I think is a very harmful political and social mindset.

I just think you could be more benevolent and detailed, regarding what you think NPCism is and how to counter it.
