THREE UNIQUE ABILITIES: DISPEL, AMPLIFY AND THE POWER OF REDEMPTION

To all my friends, splinterlords and splinterladies around the world, happy weekend to you all. I was playing splinterlands yesterday and when I got a point to take to the next level, I saw a new development where I would know the percentage of gold, common, and rare cards I will get at the end of the season. Though they have said it before and I was aware of it. Just want to say good job has been done again, you don’t need to guess the amount of gold, rare and common cards you will get now, it depends on the levels you are into now before the end of the seasons.

This week's battle challenge is using a venari spellsmith to battle and share the strategies. Venari spellsmith is one of the powerful neutral cards in splinterlands. Its abilities make venari spellsmith one of the dependable monsters; but some of these abilities can only be activated as the level increases from level one to the highest level.

THREE UNIQUE ABILITIES OF VENARI SPELLSIMTH

DISPEL: When monsters with dispel attack the target, it clears all positive status effects on a targeted monster. The first time i experienced this was a day when i was playing one important battle, i discovered that immediately venari spellsmith attcked my first monster which was shieldbearer, all the armor gone for good. After the battle, I went back to my monsters’ collection to check the abilities of the venari spellsmith. That was how I discovered that the dispel abilities cleared all the positive effects on targeted monsters, not only the armor.
I wanted to be clearer about the dispel ability of a venari spellsmith. I watched one of the top battles in splinterlands where dispel ability was used. The moment the venari spellsmith struck the opponent monster, the inspired and protected abilities on a targeted monster were removed. This is how dispel ability works.

• AMPLIFY: amplify ability increases the magic attack of all friendly monsters. It is the opposite of silent ability monsters. The silence ability monsters reduce the opponent magic attack of opponent monsters while amplify increases magic attack of friendly monsters. The difference is that silence ability affects opponent monsters negatively while amplify affects friendly monsters positively; both are advantageous to the players that use it while both are disadvantageous to players that are not using the abilities. What a good advantage when using amplify ability when most of your monsters in that particular battle are magic monsters. It simply means all the magic monsters in the battle will have l +1additional magic attack which can give you victory.

• REDEMPTION: When this monster dies, it does 1 damage to all enemy monsters. Hmmm! I have lost battles due to redemption ability; I could remember a player that used an exploding rat as the first monster, due to battle rules that said “melee monsters can attack in any position”. I used explosive dwarf also but my explosive dwarf does not Have redemption ability and two other monsters with 1 health without armor. The moment I attacked and destroyed my opponent's explosive dwarf, my three monsters with 1 health were eliminated in the battle. That is how redemption ability is powerful.

Dispel ability is the primary ability of this monster which simply means that this ability is available from level one to the last level, while amplify can only be activated in level four and
Redemption can only be activated in level 8.
Hence, my venary spellsimth only has dispel ability.

RULE OF THE BATTLE

TARGET PRACTICE: all ranged and magic attack monsters have the snipe ability

ARRANGEMENT

• BATTLE ORCA: I knew that the front end of the battle would not be as hot as the middle since the rule had already given the hint about the battle. The rule said, “ranged and magic attack monster would attack in the middle (snipe), that is the major reason I placed battle orca as the first monster in the battle.

• DJINN OSHANNUS: I have 75% probability that the second position would be the hottest position in this battle because of the rule and availability of magic monsters when I was selecting monsters for this battle.
  That was the major reason I selected Djinn Oshannus so that the void ability would be advantageous to me. You could see that my opponent had four magic monsters in his lineup and the inclusion of Djinn Oshannus with its void ability made it possible for me not to eliminate it very fast.
  Despite the toughness of the battle in second position, Djinn Oshannu held it to the last round before it was finally eliminated in the battle.

• FURIOUS CHICKEN: there was no mana left and i had one position left in the battle. The reason for placing furious chicken as the third monster was to delay.
  I knew battle orca would be eliminated, but by the time oshannus led the battle; then, furious chicken would be in the second position to delay the attack.

• DOCTOR BLIGHT: Even though furious chicken was eliminated as i planned and djinn oshannus lead the battle, and doctor blight shifted to second position which is the hottest position, the camouflage ability would protect the monster in the second position that would not make any opponent monster to attack it: unless it leads the battle.
  I desperately needed the poison ability of doctor blight in this battle to damage the health of any affected monster. In the first round, Doctor blight’s poisoned venari wavesmith; in the third round, it poisoned captain ghost that damaged its health to three. That was the reason Captain Ghost could not have the opportunity to attack any monster before it was finally eliminated by deeplurker.

• DEEPLURKER: This opportunity monster is very important to eliminate monsters with lowest health in this battle. The battle would have been difficult if deeplurker wasn’t in my monsters’ arrangement because torrent friend wouldn’t have been killed in the first round, and the rest of my magic monsters would have continued to attack opponent Djinn Oshannus. Opponent’s oshannus would have delayed me a lot due to void ability but deeplurker made it possible by eliminating torrent friend in the first round. That was the reason it was very easy for me to eliminate any monster in second position.

• VENARI SPELLSMITH: After careful consideration of this monster, the best position was to be the last monster so that it would not easily get to second position. And if there is an opportunity monster in the opponent lineup, it would first attack furious chicken before the venari spellsimth. Unfortunately, venari spellsmith could not have othe opportunityto display dispel ability in this battle but contributed to the victory.
