Call of Dragons - Build Your City and Do Battle
Greetings to all gamers! My topics are usually about chess and Splinterlands but I will be covering a gaming subject today. I tried a game I saw posted by @southgamer, Call of Dragons. It's available for download on PC on the link: https://callofdragons.farlightgames.com/
The game starts with a cool video explaining the background with a battle between the three heroes of each race. This scene is reminiscent of Warcraft with Orcs, Humans and Elves fighting each other and then working together to fight a common foe.
PVE Mode of Play
After the video, we have to choose our starting hero. Each race has their own advantages. The orc is melee, elf is ranged and human is magic. These are the three types of attacks common in games like Splinterlands.
I prefer humans and magic so naturally I chose Waldyr, the ice mage.
After choosing the hero, we are taken into a tutorial while doing quests. Eventually, we will gain control of our city.
The start of the tutorial/mission.
There are several stages in the mission. Completing each one earns rewards like resources and items to level up the hero.
Gain control of your town. Do the missions on the upper left tab and you will earn more rewards.
New buildings will be unlocked as you level up your town.
After reaching a certain level, the first money offer popped out of my screen, a legendary hero for $1. It may be cheap but this is just the first legendary hero that can be bought. There are a lot that you will need if you want to win. You will have to level them up by getting additional copies. Whales spend thousands of dollars in these games.
PVP Mode of Play
The object of the PVP mode is to control the map and beat the dragon in the middle. It can get intense reaching it. Guilds do battle to control the gates and paths leading to it.
My power is 25,000 can be seen in the upper left. To fight others in battle, I need to raise it to millions. I also need to join a guild with other players. Games like this involve politics. You will have to form diplomacy with other guilds if you are not strong enough.
Watch a sample war. It can get intense and last for hours, even days. Players lose sleep trying to gain territory. You will have to pay a lot of real money to keep up buying resources to heal troops.
Conclusion
The game is fun to play but time consuming. The PVE part is addicting and takes a lot of time to play. The missions are similar to the ones you do on classic RPG games like Warcraft. Free to play gamers will enjoy playing this. The PVP part will depend on your budget and commitment. It's possible to play the game on limited budget if you are lucky to join a top guild. You can lose your troops and real money healing them during wars. The game demands a lot of time between doing daily tasks (farming, fighting darklings), events, missions and PVP. It is fun if you are prepared to commit a lot of your time.

Welcome on board fellow kindred. I'm sure you will get addicted if you are not already. Whenever you play the game or any other game at midnight like me, you can also share in the midnight letters community as well.
Share your call of dragon handle, let's link up in the game.
My name in the game was Cagnus Marlsen but I don't think I'll continue playing. My town was attacked and got relocated. There's so many things to do it's overwhelming.
Take it one bit at a time
I was bombarded with the Ads of this game in my other favourite game (Tower Defence). And it gave the Clash of Clans vibes. I never bothered to check this.
The biggest problem with such a game is that it's Free to Play, you at time, become a fodder to the guys who are spending on it. No chance of one beating the game or getting into decent levels unless they pay for it. Or go for an inhumane grind.
The game is ok if you play the PVE part only. But you still have to level up your city and hero to progress. The PVP part, you have to play with a lot of hours to increase power.
