Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge: A New Era of Reward Cards

Greetings to all Splinterlands players! There is an exciting announcement posted recently by the team. In the post it was announced that new Conclave Arcana reward cards will replace the Rebellion set. Old time players are familiar with the reward cards. If you are a newbie and are starting your Splinterlands journey in the Frontier Format, the reward cards can be obtained by earning glints in the Modern or Wild Format. Reward cards can be obtained in the chests that can be bought in Gwen's Glint shop.

There are a lot of items to buy with glint. You would want the rarity draws to get cards. You can also choose the Loot chests if you want to try your luck.

How the Meta Will Change

Conclave Arcana will be a new set of 43 cards. According to the post, there will be 12 Common, 12 Rare, 7 Epic, and 12 Legendary cards to shake up the meta. There is a disclaimer that this may change once the set is finalized. The standard cards in this set are soulbound that can be unlocked by Unbinding Scrolls. Unlocking will enable the cards to be transferred, sold or rented. Gold and Black Foil variants are not soulbound and can be sold or rented.

The Unbinding Scroll is a new feature to unlock soulbound cards. It can be obtained in a number of ways.

• It can be bought for DEC at 5x Collection Power.
• It can be found as a new reward in Loot Chests.
• It can be bought non card market or trade directly with other players.
• It can be crafted using resources from Land in the Artisan Quarter.

✨ Aura Costs of Unbinding Scrolls

Note that Unbinding Scrolls expire 30 days after the Conclave Arcana set's print run ends.

Undoubtedly, the 43 new cards will change the meta and how the game is played. There will be more cards that will take advantage of the archon's Bloodline Dominion. I think new card combinations will be formed by these changes. There is no announcement yet if the new cards will come with new skills but if they do then it is another matter to consider when forming teams in Splinterlands games. I also think that the new cards will fill some gaps in some splinters/elements. For example, the Death element has no good first position tank. Thraghun is good but he is a second position tank. I think the new set will fill in these desired units in the elements.

My Excitement with the New Reward Set

What excites me about the reward cards are that they obtainable for free. It rewards active players who play the game daily. It's a way for Splinterlands players to strengthen our deck by continuously playing the game. Two, the new reward cards will define the Modern Format since they are expected to change the meta. It will add strategies to the game similar to having new openings in chess. The more openings you know in chess, the more weapons you have in your arsenal and the more choices to surprise your opponent. And three, the chances to obtain Black Foil and Arcane versions by Fortune draws. I did not discuss it but it's one of the new features that will come with the new reward cards.

Conclusion

The Conclave Arcana reward set is another enhancement to Splinterlands. It will define how players will build decks and play the game. The new cards will change the meta and will further use the Bloodline Dominion from archons. For veteran players, it adds excitement of the chance to obtain new cards. For new players, it will encourage them to try the Modern Format and experience collecting cards outside of the Frontier set. If the Splinterlands developers continue with updates like this then it could reignite interest in the game and entice more new players to try and play.
