Splinterlands Social Media Challenge - Choosing My Units in Battles!

Greetings to Splinterlands players!

For this week's Splinterlands Social Media Challenge, I will talk about building teams for battles. We will have examples of teams from two elements and talk about why I chose each unit for the games.

Water Element's Magic

The Water element archon gives the team a +1 buff in magic attack. Therefore, when forming Water element teams, we want to have a lot of magic units. We also want a strong frontline since magic units usually have low health. When forming Water teams, I usually have the following units in the line-up.

Commander Slade

Commander Slade is ideal in the frontline. He has eight life and five shield to protect the magic units from the back. If you need a lower mana frontline, you can also use the Giant Alpine Skink. For lower mana battles, the new promo card, Yaba's Pickle is an ideal unit in the front line. It has five life and a shield for only four mana.

Vengeful Monk

In this game, the maximum mana is forty. I included another non-magic unit. Vengeful Monk is a melee unit with two attack. It has an Opportunity skill to hit enemy units with the lowest life.

Shock Trooper

Shock Trooper is a double edged unit. It has high magic attack but in return, it damages all allies in every turn.

The rest of my team is composed of units with one magic attack. With the buff from the archon, another magic attack is added.

The enemy team is Fire, specializing in speed. He has the advantage in speed while my team has the advantage in attack power.

Round 1 - My superior attacking power prevailed. My opponent lost two units.
Round 2 - My team lost three units partly because of Shock Troopers zap and partly from the opponent's attack. My own attack also eliminated two opponent units. It's now three units versus two in my favor.
Round 3 - I lost my Shock Trooper but my team retaliated and eliminated the opponent's remaining two units. Game over.

Fire Element's Speed

The Fire element archon buffs the team with speed. When I play with Fire, I choose melee units compared to magic with Water. I try to take advantage of Fire element's speed and buff my melee unit with an additional attack with Inspire skill.

Drybone Megalodon

Drybone Megalodon has three melee attack and has strong defense in the frontline.

Chaos Furrybringer

Chaos Furrybringer is a great unit in number two position. He has Reach skill and two attack.

Echelon

Echelon is another melee unit but only one attack. It has Opportunity skill that can attack with melee from any position.

Portly Cannoneer

Portly Cannoneer is one of the units I purchased. It is a great support unit for my melee team. It has the Inspire skill that adds another melee attack to my units.

The enemy team has two legendary magic units. They both have high magic attacks. Luckily, the ruleset includes Weak Magic and he has two units in the team with no attack so it counters the presence of his two strong legendary units.

Round 1 - The enemy lost three units. My faster units and strong melee attacks are effective. Meanwhile, his magic attacks hit my frontline's shield first. It's two versus four in my favor.
Round 2 - The enemy lost another unit and he retaliated by eliminating my frontline. But it's now his single unit versus three of mine going to round 3.
Round 3 - The enemy tried to put up a fight and eliminated one of my units but this did not last long. Echelon killed the opponent's last remaining unit. Game over.
