Splinterlands Social Media Challenge - Mission 12.4 — Thayko Gol’eavas
Greetings to all Splinterlands players. The last two missions of the Campaign mode were difficult. Last week, I wrote a guide on how to beat Chapter 12.3 in the Campaign mission. This time, let's look into Chapter 12.4. I found this mission a big step up in difficulty as I failed many times. I tried many team combinations and finally found something that worked.
Splinterlands Frontier
Splinterlands Frontier Format went live recently. It's a completely free to play format where players can earn more Foundation set cards that they initially got from completing the Campaign Mode. Moreover, only Foundation set cards are allowed in the Frontier Format. So it's really helpful to earn all the initial cards from the Foundation set.
Great Bear Druid, an important Chess Piece
The last mission of Book 1 - Maur Wedge Academy is a legendary neutral card, Great Bear Druid.
It has dual attack of melee and magic. I often use this card behind cards with Flank skills so that he can attack twice with melee and magic. He can also be used in rulesets where melee cards can attack from anywhere to maximize his attacking potential. This card is a very crucial chess piece in games so it's important to finish the last mission in the Campaign Mode.
Thayko Gol’eavas
The last mission brings us full circle. If you remember Thayko Gol’eavas from Prologue Part 2. He's the cheeky brat waiting by the gate who beat your single card with his full deck.
In the last mission, we will fight Thayko Gol’eavas again but this time, we have a deck of our own. We just earned our first legendary card, Little Sister. She will be a great help in the battle against Thayko.
Little Sister has one magic attack and an important skill, Life Leech. In this fight against Thayko, we need lots of health and Little Sister gains more health each time she attacks. Here is the tip to win the fight.
Thayko Uses Magic
Thayko use the Water element or a magic team. He also has two strong magic cards that are not released yet in the current Foundation set. They are Mystic Scaleweaver and Saltwater Mage.
Mystic Scaleweaver is a legendary card. It has two magic attacks and a lot of health. She also has a skill to slow down your units.
Saltwater Mage is an epic card that also has two magic attacks. It also has Sneak skill so Thayko's team attacks in front and from behind.
How to Beat Thayko
To counter Thayko's team, we need a team with a lot of health. We also need need to counter his magic attacks. I tried a lot of combinations for this mission and failed many times. I went online and checked winning teams of other players. The best team to use was the Death element with Little Sister in the team. I don't know if there are other teams that can win but this is one I found most effective.
In the frontline, we have a card that has a Void skill (Nim Guard Captain) to decrease the enemy magic attack. It also has armor and a lot of health. Some of Thayko's units in the middle have low health. So we need to use a unit with Opportunity skill. The Vengeful Monk is very useful since he can take out Thayko's Colossus Raider and Water Logged Wizard. My next units are magic attackers with Little Sister in the back. She will guard the rear against Thayko's Saltwater Mage who has Sneak skill. I also have an archer, Black Widow with two attacks and five lives in the last position.
The fight is won and we get our revenge on Thayko who is salty about his loss. I hope we can get our hands on those strong cards soon.
