Toying with AI art and mixing it

Disco Diffusion is the one I've been ordered to do so I will (definitely try to start it today) after I've stopped my doomscrolling and procrastination.
Anyway, I've toyed with AI art this week, I've just been caught up with the current situation so much that I've almost forgot about everything else than the war and Putin memes and although everything else than the human suffering seems so pointless, now more than ever because doomscrolling isn't new to me, because and suffering isn't a new thing to the world, this time I've done it more than ever and as other people too who normally couldn't care less about grownups and children dying in wars, are also victims of doomscrolling, it now has a name and I have no idea how to end this sentence or this paragraph so I'm just saying that haven't lost any sleep, am not distressed because this is what I've done before too because I have no interest in taking selfies or sharing you my daily lunches or what I'm wearing or doing stupid cheer messages in any place where it actually matters as much as dog poo on snow which actually matters more than empty promises of support but not even showing up when you need the supporter or people saying how they need to protect themselves and take a break from all the horrible news because they feel bad because they now now more than ever before that people die in wars and children suffer and as they seem to have no mean to deal with the fact that the world is a bad place, always has been to someone out there, perhaps not so much to you, so they just choose to close their eyes and not listen when someone says that they have problems or issues or suffer because of bad people but guess what, if you privileged person over there ever get bullied, beaten, suffer from depression, are poor or your country ends up being in a war imagine how the people around you or in other countries react so you better hope they don't end up saying: "I can't deal with all this bad news, don't talk to me."
Was that too much?
I guess you could say that I am a bit passionate about this.
I wasn't quite sure to which community I could cram my post in to because the art I've made is about 50/50 mine/other. It's from news photo and from Wombo dream and although Wombo has the policy (at least they've stated this in discord) that you can create new art from the art you've created in their app or web site, you can't claim it yours or sell it or anything like that. But art derived from this that I've made is of course totally okay as long as the art where you can see clearly that it's made by wombo, is far less than 50% of the art or not recognizable anymore.
And my part in this is CC0 so go right ahead if you wish to create something out of this.
So I've settled for Neoxian, not Alien art or collage art, not to mention any other art related community because I would perhaps break their rules. And this post might be a mix of different stuff, not just mixed art.

I tried other AI art apps too and here are the ones that either tickled me the most or the ones I'm most impressed with. Of course it's nothing like the proper AI art tools are capable of but as seeing art is subjective, I dare to show you also images that are not detailed photorealistic scenes from the future or some distant planet with civilization or life in it.
Guess what words I've used. :D Or sentences in this case.

I don't actually remember the sentences anymore, I invented different ones each time but there definitely was the words Putin and war and perhaps in some also Ukraine, bloody, a frog, troll, alien, horrible and butcher. Pencil drawing, monochrome and darkness may have been also used.
The first row, middle one, I freaking wish I would have created it. I love it!
Second row, first and third image, what faces. The first one, awful but fascinating, the third one, I see a cute alien there, with bloody face and yellows eyes. Marvellous.
Third row, third image: this is what you get when you write something about Russia being cut of from the internet. Awesome interpretation from the AI.
Fourth row, first and second image, obviously frog fighters. I love the tanky that wants to be a proper tank in the first image.
And the very last image, isn't it obvious that there's a nuclear orthodox church plant and on the foreground a bloody battlefield? To me it is.
Let's see how Wombo Dream did.

I have to say that although there are few which I really like, I liked more the ones that Nebula 41 made. Nebula 41 actually creates videos but I failed to make a reasonable sized gifs out of those videos so I just saved the end result and made it better and larger with SwinIR.

First one, third image is perhaps my favourite one. Third row, second image, there's a mechanical octopus soldier there, which is kinda interesting.
The difference with Wombo Dream and Nebula 41 is that in Nebula 41 you have more control over the style. If you choose the advanced mode, you can describe what ever style you want and what's important, if you think it's important, you can say that the image is more detailed because the AI creates only what you want it to create. In Wombo dream there are only the pre defined styles and already I am seeing repetition and in most cases recognize the style. And that's a little boring.
But, as I already said, Nebula 41 is still not one of the best ones because it's easy to use, light and quick. Nothing like Disco Diffusion which I am told I have to try out. :) Yes, I will, I will.
I have a terrible urge to drown you to Putin memes (again) and thought about making a meme post, (again), which has only memes in it. But I think that if memes are the only thing I would have to put in to a post, no new opinions, only things that I've already said, I perhaps shouldn't do just a meme post. Like these:

Looks like you found some fun toys, nice work. That image wall starts out all abstract space art then pretty much remind me of Red Alert 2 as it progresses, very apt seeing as Russia was the big baddy there too.
AI art generating is really fun and I'm really amazed of all the ideas. And the apps that I've played with are just the simple ones. It's really easy to just get absorbed in.

I rather like that first meme. When everyone was putting up "I'm with Ukraine" in their Facebook feeds, a friend posted a meme which showed airstrikes across the world in the last 48 hours. We had Russia on Ukraine, Israel on Damascus, Saudi on Yemen and the US on Somalia. Her line was 'condemn war everywhere'. I guess it depends which side you're meant to be on as to what your media is reporting on and Putin's drawn the short straw.
I have to say, I didn't immediately recognise him in your artwork. He's looking quite demonic!
That's the only way to read my long sentence-paragraphs. Not breathing. Because sometimes the message in them is as confusing as brain is after not breathing for a while. Kinda makes sense but not sure and everything's buzzing.
Exactly. I do though understand that living in Finland, where Russia has never been that good of a friend to us, and when thinking about the history and the fact that this is happening in Europe and only a little over 1000km from us, we might be a bit more concerned but then again Russia has been in "conflicts", meaning wars before this too. And not just Russia but other big countries too.
The key thing here is that it's Europe that's been attacked. Just like the first art/meme pointed out. Many people do seem to think that Europeans/westerners matter more. But also, I do think, that living in a world where people just seem to want to fight and kill each other, it's also just picking the side of the not ultimately bad country or leader, trying to avoid the one that is bad for everyone. And the fact that we are trying to support democracy at the same time.
As a Finn, I do hate the rulers of Russia, as do many Russians who now live in Finland, because it simply just wasn't a good place for them to live in. And because I quite like the fact that I can criticize the leaders here, without the fear of ending up dead. But yes, I have lots and lots of memes stored that point out the fact how racist European countries can be when dealing with refugees fleeing wars. And that fact makes me really mad.
Ah yes, Finland has already had experience with Russian invasion too. Something I didn't even know about before meeting you here. I guess that also demonstrates that we react to things based on what we know and our own experiences. You could talk about Somalia, Damascus or Yemen, but many haven't even heard of those countries. Everyone knows Russia, though, and the Ukraine too because of them. The woman who posted that meme is Lebanese, so she is likely more aware of conflicts in the middle east and their importance to her will be much higher.
Things why Finns are more concerned when Russia attacks Europe: the largest Foreign-language speakers here are Russians so living near Russia is not just being the neighboring country but seeing and hearing what Russian speakers think about the leaders of Russia before all this an now is very much like what Finns think about Russian leaders: not good for anyone.
Putin has stated multiple times to Finnish leaders that "there will be consequences if you even think of joining NATO" which, until now has not been taken that seriously but is seen in a completely new light. The fact that most Finns have not wanted to join NATO, perhaps because the biggest members are US an UK and we do not always agree with their decisions but as we do not want to be told what to do by anyone, the thought of joining NATO has grown bigger just because we now perhaps take the sayings of Putin as a threat and even though it might not be good for us, we want to do the opposite than what Putin demands us to do. <-- That last bit is perhaps more a personal opinion than a fact.
Ukrainians are part of Europe and look more like Europeans and that mentality just makes me sick. It's just, well, let's call it what it is, racism. The lives of European looking seem to matter more. We definitely should help Ukrainians but why the heck those people who help so much now have until this day been so silent of all the other victims of wars all over the world. And people who have been attacked by Russia in other parts of the world. For the last two weeks there's almost nothing else from the news here than the Ukraine war. The overall mentality, more or less when common people talk about helping refugees is that this is something that has never ever happened before and that's just... It's horrible how people can't see how different their reaction is now compared to the fact when people for instance from Syria or Somalia have tried to come here or who now live here. And the thing that some people do not understand how different things are if someone flees from a country at war when there's one enemy everyone can understand easily (Russians) compared to a situation when there's more like a civil war and multiple war lords kidnapping children and young men to fight in a war no-one can explain easily to anyone.
So in Finland it's not just the history with Russia, it's also the current situation with Putin. But still, what about all the refugees before this all? The saddest meme I think from those 10 memes I posted is the one with the labyrinth.

And now I've just learnt a lot more about Finland that I didn't know. It's prompted me to look at the map and I didn't realise you share such a large border with Russia. I guess I always imagined the border to be along the bottom of the outcrop that I picture as Scandinavia. Your language being so different to the Slavic languages probably also makes me separate the country more in my mind than the former USSR countries.
After reading this I can see why it speaks to you with regards the war situations more now. I have to admit that I tend to switch off from a lot of new reports on refugee situations, due to the bias that comes with it. One of the things I like about Australia is that we have so many immigrants and refugees I can often hear directly from them.
When the original fighting started in the Ukraine my daughter did rhythmic gymnastics with a Ukrainian coach. There were other Ukrainian parents there too, so I heard conversions on the war. What was interesting was that there were both Eastern and Western Ukrainians and their opinions differed. The West wanted to connect with Europe more while the East wanted to keep ties to Russia. It certainly opened my eyes to there being more complex issues than one side verses the other. I find myself comparing it to the Ireland situation, which ended up being divided in order to try and resolve things peacefully.
Yeah, I write too much. It compensates the times when I don't write anything even though I perhaps should.
It's totally understandable that in countries near bigger countries which have either occupied or invaded the smaller country before, or influenced the country so that there is a kind of a fear mentality around so people want to either avoid war or not be taken to prison because of criticizing the bigger country or it's leaders to maintain the status quo, not perhaps ideal but everyone's alive, so they might even start hating the people who do criticize the oppressing country because it's easier to hate the criticizers, not the actual wrong doers. And I get it, there are plenty of people too who actually do not believe a word the western media or independent media says but believe everything Putin says. This is not just Putins war but then again there thankfully are plenty of Russians who do not agree with Putin and think this actually is a war, not a rescue attempt by Russia.
